Re: Slash & Conspirators NEW album Living the Dream
SLASH FT. MYLES KENNEDY & THE CONSPIRATORS will release their new album, "Living The Dream", on September 21 via Slash's own label Snakepit Records in partnership with Roadrunner Records. The follow-up to 2014's "World On Fire" is Slash's fourth solo album, and third with his band featuring Myles Kennedy (vocals), Brent Fitz (drums), Todd Kerns (bass, vocals) and Frank Sidoris (guitar, vocals).
For "Living The Dream", Slash and his band re-teamed with producer Michael "Elvis" Baskette (ALTER BRIDGE, IGGY POP, INCUBUS); the group is currently putting the finishing touches on the powerful 12-song collection.
The band will support the disc by embarking on tour of the U.S. and Canada in early September.

Back in March, Slash said that he was "excited" about the material that was written for the upcoming SLASH FT. MYLES KENNEDY & THE CONSPIRATORS album. "It's got some cool songs and it's got a great live feel," he said.
"I've been working with Myles, Brent and Todd for about eight years now. It's been an amazing ride so far; as a band we continue to get better which is great. With the addition of Frank since the 'World On Fire' tour, I feel we have hit a great, creative stride which I definitely think shows on this next record."

I’m not sure if this belongs here or not, I figured it does seeing as Slash is now back in GN’R

The teasers from that clip sound very much like World On Fire to me too

I like most of Slash’s material. I’m sure that won’t change much...but that’s an awful album title.

I agree. Chinese Democracy is so much better. Lol just kidding. I like Living the Dream. It’s different.

I guess until we see context of the title with artwork and song lyrical content, it’s tough to judge Living the Dream.
Who knows, it might just be a dig at Perla or something. She’s “living the dream” rolling in all this money, while Slash is out there working his ass off
Or it could be in regards to the successful NITL tour run.
Who knows really, but I am curious...

I bet it is a feel good crossover hit with Myles sounding happy. A perfect radio song. Isn’t it fun guessing what new songs will be like? Axl, you reading this, lol

Re: Slash & Conspirators NEW album Living the Dream
In 1993 "Living the Dream" would have been an ironic title with the songs all about the sleazy underbelly of hollywood life - music like "Neither Can I " and "Soma City Ward" on snakepit 1.
These days in 2018 it's probably going to be an album about vegan yoga....but musically it sounded great so i'm excited!

Re: Slash & Conspirators NEW album Living the Dream
The... slightly disheartening thing is this is completely separate from GN'R. One of the things I liked in the Chinese Democracy era was that there was a sense of camaraderie among the band; Fortus would turn up on Tommy's solo record, Robin and Buckethead would rock up to record the Ghosts of Mars soundtrack, etc. It'd be nice to see some of the current GN'R line-up guesting on Slash's solo album; get Dizzy to contribute a piano part, or Melissa in for a vocal slot or something.

I don’t think that’s on Slash though.
Those are Axl’s hired hands, not Slash’s. Slash had his own band, the Conspirators going for years, why should he include Axl’s hired goons on his own solo stuff?
Especially not Dizzy or the annoyingly out of place blue-haired Jpop princess, Melissa. They belong with Axl’s stupid techno rubbish, not on a straight up guitar rock record.
