#911 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Rock Star Supernova to reunite » 892 weeks ago
The show was great but I was very disappointed when I started hearing the Supernova songs, they just sucked.
Yeah, I bought the album because I dig Gilby and Newstead's songwriting. I got it, listened, and was disappointed.
If memory serves, the producer had most of the songwriting credits, followed by Tommy Lee. I know Gilby had a couple(which if you're a Gilby fan are fairly obvious which ones they are when you listen), and I don't think Newstead had any.

I'm generally against every stupid thing a "celebrity" says being news, but every once in a while you hear something like this and have to realize how far detached from reality a large portion of these people are.
#913 Re: Guns N' Roses » Baz talks about the general and the "trilogy" » 892 weeks ago
I think somebody said it in another thread recently, but I'll echo it.
Let's get one album out first, then start talking about a trilogy.

Neemo wrote:wasnt he in rehab last year too?
I think he had surgery (cancer maybe?) or something, but I don't remember rehab. This is a big deal for someone who's been clean so long.
I know Tom Hamilton (bass player) had Cancer, that might be what you're thinking.
Tyler could've too, I don't know, but I know Tom did.

Dickerson.
After this, it could really be anybody. I know who I think it is, but there's obviously a lot of people with different ideas as to how to decide.
#916 Re: Guns N' Roses » Duff says that a one-night GN'R reunion is possible.. » 893 weeks ago
So what did Duff say about it? I'm saying this is bullshit until I get a quote from the interview...
Ha, I don't know if you could even possibly type out the quote.

It's pretty funny though
Heyman: "Have you ever made love to an ugly woman?"
Duff: "Yeah. I used to drink alot"
#917 Re: The Garden » Monopoly Board Game Goes Cashless - Brainwashing? » 894 weeks ago
I use cash in bars and fast food restaurants. That's about it anymore.
Plus, I've found Monopoly ridiculously boring forever, I was coerced into playing the cashless version a while ago..... At least it went faster. So I see it as a positive for the game.

besides its s guns n roses song...you can bet that Axl coptrighted it the moment he thought the riff was cool...from what i understand it doesnt cost much to copyright material
Copyrighting is free. If you create anything that can be reduced to written form (such as a song, with lyrics and music notation), you own its copyright. Of course, unless you make it obvious that you own the copyright (you can make it obvious by mailing the work to yourself or marking it with ©, your name, and date) it's difficult to prove that you own it. If you really want exclusive protection, you can register a copyrighted material, but it's not really necessary.
That's what I was getting at. I've heard of the "poor man's copyright" and such. I just didn't know how much would stand up legally and such.
I guess what I was getting at was the "it's difficult to prove that you own it" part. The thought I had was all of the supposed GnR songs that have been "leaked" as well. They are obviously to most of us not GNR songs, but could you use that arguement that you didn't think anything was legit with the actual songs if you wanted to do those if it's not done through official channels.
I guess what I'm saying is: Is it their burden to prove that you're familiar with the song they never actually released, or is it your's to say I didn't?
I hope this thought makes sense. I was drunk when I posted my 1st post in this thread. I'm waaay drunker now. If it doesn't make sense, hopefully I'll fix it in the morning.
#919 Re: Guns N' Roses » Question about GNR remakes. » 894 weeks ago
I get/agree with what you guys are saying. I think he's asking specifically about the leaks though, and are they technically copyrighted yet if they haven't technically been released.
#920 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Classic Rock - And the new Velvet Revolver frontman is… » 894 weeks ago
I still think someone like John Corabi would be really cool. He's not that well-known, but has been in the industry as long as the rest of them have, so there'd be no clash of egos.
And I still think he helped produce one of Motley Crue's best albums, even if the general public didn't think so.Check out this Motley song from that album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MY33fw2XCE
He has a cool, low raspy blues voice, and could probably sing Scott's style as well as adding his own touch.
I bought the dvd that that youtube video is from specifically so I could see the 3 videos they made with Corabi that I didn't know existed.
I wouldn't see them going with Corabi just because he came across as kind of the "loser" (for complete lack of a better word) in the Motley Crue situation.
I'd love to see it, but I don't think it'll happen. (which seems to be a theme with the people who I'd like to see get this job now that I think about it)
