I bought an electronic drumset off musician's friend the other day based on getting this. It doesn't really matter when to me, as long as it comes.
I was one of the people who last I had heard it was June though, so this is good news.

If I remember correctly Dover was recently playing some shows with Gilby (or at least some combination of the Starfuckers) but that seems to be a pretty rotating lineup, and is just for fun to fuck around.
Edit: Wikipedia says this: Currently, Dover fronts a group named Sextus and has adopted a moniker of the same name. Stranger Than Fiction was released by Sextus on March 18, 2008. He is currently married and living in Los Angeles

for instance standard tuning the top sting of the guitar is an E note...a half step down is E Flat...that is what all the old GnR songs are tuned to....or maybe Robin had it way down a full step so the top string had become an "F" or there could have been alternate tunings...Open G or Drop D...etc etc...maybe Axl liked the idea of a certain chord structure or riff but wanted it redone in a different tuning...it doestn mean the guitars were "out of tune"
if any of that makes any sense

but as instrumental songs and vocal melodies were meshed its quite conceivable to rework things
I think you have probably hit the nail on the head. Although surely you would have worked this shit out after only one or two sessions. You wouldn't get to the point where you have recorded all his guitar parts only to then discover it should have been say tuned down half a step or something, because it didnt' sound right with everything else or fit with the key Axl was trying to sing in etc.
If nothing else, it was definitely worked out by the first live shows some 8 years ago now.
Was it though, Axl had a hell of a time hitting some of the notes at the start of The Blues, maybe tuning issues meant they had to be done in a different key to get to where Axl could hit it consistently.

From that list.. Shooter Jennings I would pick.
I agree, and I'm pretty sure I already said it in another thread, so I hate to keep it up. Their assessment is probably pretty correct though.
Still, imagine a Matt/Duff rhythm section and Slash solo in this song.

Generally Axl's scream is a lot raspier than that isn't it?
#938 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Tom Morello, Slash, Perry Farrell, Flea at All-Star Jam » 897 weeks ago
This was attached to the blabbermouth story, and as good as the quality is, I would assume more will pop up.
#939 Re: The Sunset Strip » The Sopranos » 897 weeks ago
The series as a whole was great but you'll see as you watch season to season how it becomes less raw and more like dreams states, other interests and psychological stuff thrown in and it took away from that raw in your face Goodfellas feel with a hint of that but all in all a great show indeed.
Sounds like this series fell into the 'X Files trap". Very original and creative, then buys into its own hype and the quality heads down the toilet.
I don't think the quality ever really went down the toilet necessarily, but I get what DTJ was saying too. It's more like in the later seasons you spend about 1 episode per season going "What the fuck was that?".
I also thought they had the problem of introducing too many interesting characters and don't really have the time to tell their stories. Like there should have been a couple spin-offs or something, although spin-offs are rarely as good as the show they came from, so it's probably a good thing they didn't.

I thought Burden Brothers broke up. Maybe I heard wrong though. That would probably be the best explanation as to why they aren't using him, so you're probably right.
