Never been to Budapest  or Lisbon BUT I have been to both Athens and Barcelona. Athens was fun  for a day but other than that it's a dirty city and I could not wait to leave. Seriously you can take in all the history in Athens in a  day. I spent 4 days there and it was way too long. Barcelona on the other hand is an amazing city with a great beach and a great downtown area. Bareclona is ten times the city Athens is and that is being generous to Athens.  New York city is my favorite city I ahve ever been to. Barcelona is my second. World class city with lots to see and do.
