Re: Bacon Milkshake: Jack In The Box Adds Absurd Indulgence To Menu
I had the Maple Bacon Sundae at Denny's just for a laugh.
Believe it or not it wasn't bad. Your cardiologist will hate you for it.
Basically the combo of the maple syrup and bacon created a pecan flavor. So when you tasted it with the soft-serve vanilla ice cream that's kinda what it tastes like, with just hints of bacon.
After awhile though the excessive syrup just overpowered the sundae with 'sweet', and kinda got old. Another disgusting part was the bacon grease, syrup, melted ice cream resevoir pocket at the bottom. I took a few bites of that, and that was enough. I would threw it up any further.
A bacon milkshake probably tastes pretty similar.
The short-lived Denny's sundae...

Dude it was funny as hell... you ever seen "The Great Outdoors" with John Candy? If you have, remember when he eats 'The 96er', this big ass steak and the whole restaurant is watching.
That was me and that sundae. Nobody had the guts to order it. People were either terrified of it, or grossed out by it.
I took the leap and tried it.
Just about every person in that place just watched me, asking constantly how was it, getting grossed out by me actually eating it, then finishing it, suddenly applause.
Really funny life moment
I should've gotten a T-shirt that said after I left "I Survived the Maple Bacon Sundae"

My favorite menu item looked at as "ridiculous" was/is the Double Down at KFC.
I tried one of them... they were actually pretty good.
But you'll OD on meat. It's just meat overload, because you're biting into two thick chicken breasts at once.
You practically don't even taste the bacon it's so thin.
