Ran into Kobe Bryant at, in typical Philly fashion, a local cheesesteak shop.  Near St Joe's University if any of you heard of the college.  The high school he went to isn't all that far from there.  Kinda funny, I didn't know it was him & heard a few people say "Good luck tomorrow night" and I figured he was a St Joe's player.  Then when he was walking out he passed right by me.  Actually seemed pretty nice, said goodbye to all the staff.  Wasn't as tall as I'd have thought, I checked the NBA site & he's only 6'6, I thought he was more like 6'8.  Must be athletic as fuck though to dunk like he does.

Strange he only got a couple of cheesesteaks for the Super Bowl evening, I'd have thought he go party in AC or NYC. Guess even he's getting older.  They're playing the 76ers tomorrw which is why he's in town. Just thought I'd share.

^ Yeah, I think it's cool in that, just seeing them, they're just people.  Some kid, who's not a whole lot taller than me, can jump out of the sky & do crazy dunks, and when you see him at a pizza shop just looks like an average dude. Average dude worth $100 million dollars.  Well, $50 million after his divorce 16

I always think it's cool to run into famous people. I have buddies who think I'm lame for that. They always say things like "They're just people you and me!" but for me, they're people you see and hear about every day.

It's hard to describe. It's like when I go to a city I've never been to and see a landmark for the first time in person. It's like, yeah that's "just another building" but it's one you see and hear about all the time so it's neat to see it in person.

Meh, I look at them as "just people" too.

But on the other hand... it ruins the mystique. I can honestly say I don't see Axl Rose at all the way I did as a kid, having such close communication with him and the band as we do today.

The Howard Hughes thing is kinda gone.

I think more than anything the "neat" part about it is the story afterwards. The fact PaSnow can say he ran into Kobe Bryant is probably cooler than the actual moment itself. That's how I'd see it anyways. I sat courtside at a  Nets vs Heat playoff game one time and Jay-Z and Beyonce were directly across from me on the other side. At the tiem it didn't really phase me one bit. The fact I could tell tell the story later though is what is cool about it. To know I had the exact same quality seats as Jay-Z and Beyonce is what made it neat not so much that they were actually there and I could see them for the duration of the game.
