I live in CT, and was spared for the most part.  I got the heavy winds, but nothing too big fell.  Didn't lose power (unless you count for one second).  So I lucked out.  People along the shore were not so lucky.  Massive flooding down there causing major damage and knocking out homes.  There was near record breaking flood levels in CT due to the full moon, high tide, hurricane force winds all combined.  I know NYC and Jersey got hit real hard.  Hope others on here in Sandy's path are doing alright now that things have calmed down.

Crazy stat of the day, West Virginia got 2 feet of snow due to the storm.  They got the cold air from the storm and the effects were even felt in the Great Lakes.  The storm was just massive.  Anyway, in West Virginia today, it was in the 30's.  In Montreal, Canada it was 70 degrees, as the warm air was pushed up north.  Talk about a crazy weather pattern.

My wife's name is Sandy, so needless to say we've been having a blast with this.  Well, I have at least.  I don't think she liked being called frankenstorm.

Bhahahaha yeah. My friend at work is named Sandy, and she deals with a lot of moves on the East Coast, so her hurricane has been slowing her down. We've been calling her Frankenstorm too!

Sandy fucked up NJ man. The whole jersey shore is washed away. A lot of long time Bars and establishments are gone. I live in north jersey, about 15-20 min away from the city. Basically Newark and we got rocked hard with wind. But a lot of other inner cities got it worse. I just got my power back. Trees are down everywhere. Power lines all over the streets. Gas stations have ran outta gas. It's a shit show.

Real glad to hear you're alright BLS. I've been through a hellicious Hurricane before and lost power for a week. It's amazing when you're in the middle of destruction with no power, how the world just seems to forget you even existing. We might as well of had horse and carriage and been living in Walnut Grove on Little House on the Prarie with no organization at all.

Nobody told us about a boil water alert. Local authorities and their family hogged all of the Red Cross supplies, and basically didn't tell anybody outside of their clique, including the black and hispanic community, where to get food, water and shelter.

It was like flashing back to 1882, within hours and everything looked like a bomb had gone off.

I've been there. Best wishes and heartfelt thoughts go out to that region. I actually had just got done last week visiting with family down here, who are from Virginia Beach. They ran back up there just in time for all of this shit, lol. Crazy. 16
