Seemed like an Obama lock until very shortly. Was surprised when papers in the last week were starting to talk about close. Then I talked to a buddy working in the gulf. He's met a few americans there (15-20 guys from Exxon/BP, mid management types I suppose, him being an engineer) and apparently all of them were sure of a Romney victory. Not in the sense they support Romney, but in the sense that's what they'd heard was going to happen.

And today I see the news announcing that Wall Street is for Romney, like they were for Obama and Bush in the last elections. With that kinda support I gotta shift my stance. If they really want it, they'll get it. It's not like at least the last couple of elections weren't rigged.

One of those americans told him another thing, after a few beers too many. War with Iran is a lock, and that's why they're bringing Romney in.

It sounds like your friend's tinfoil hat is on a bit too tight. wink Mangement-types and engineers and non-descript drunk Americans? Yeah, that's generally the list of people who know when we're going to war with Iran and who's getting brought in to make it happen.

Nah, he's not into that stuff. He only told me cause the guy seemed so sure about it. And I wouldn't bet my life on the Iran thing, but if there's a fix I'd expect somebody at the oil companies to know about it. Just like everybody knew the US was going into Iraq when I was in the military back in 2002.

Romney isn't needed for a war with Iran. Obama capable of continuing the US foreign policy direction of the 2000s. Been doing it since 2008 and will continue to do so until 2016.

Obama will win. I cant stand the guy but I'm voting for him and I'm not the only one. When a portion of your haters will vote for you, your reelection is pretty much a lock.

I went with Obama, based on nothing more than gut feeling. Just can't imagine waking up Wednesday morning and Romney being president.

No, he's not needed for the war itself, but I could see some wanting him for the symbolic effect. Fundamentalist christian, gay hating, capitalist loving, "real american" bombs muslim country - would certainly go a long way in cementing the United States image as the bad guy.

Obama is a lock for the popular vote of course. As you said, and you're not the only right leaning guy I've seen giving their vote to Obama. Everywhere I go there's a clear favor for him. So if Romney's gonna win I reckon it has to be a fix. Guy's a nut tbh, and he's far less apt in hiding it compared to Mr. Teleprompter Elect.

How likely do I think that is? I'd bet a 100, but not a 1000.
