Dallas, only because I've never watched an episode of 24 and vaguely remember watching Dallas with my mum when I was little.

The show was on for a LONG time - 14 seasons. The first couple is the finding the feet moments of the show. By Season 3, it was stellar entertainment, and that lasted all the way up through Season 8. It wavered a bit in Season 9, rebounded with a solid Season 10 (maybe one of their best), and then dropped off again, never to return with Seasons 11-14.

Even with the weaker moments of Dallas, primarily in the last four seasons subtracted, it's still pound for pound better than 24. The first five for 24, were solid. The last two have STUNK, as did that TV movie Redemption.

Dallas also has more replayability. It's still enjoyable watching good 'ole JR, while the 24 stuff, as cool as Jack Bauer is, once you know the twists and turns, it takes away from alot of the 'real time' enjoyment.

They're both good shows, but I think Dallas is a bit better and a bit more timeless.
