I'll pick up UYI1 next week, after Christmas I'll get Chinese Democracy.

I think I've got the vinyl bug again, my old decks lay unused for 7 years and I dug them out the other week. I'm think I'm going to start collecting records, been looking through the classified and suprised at the amount of classic albums people are practically giving away. Zavvi in the UK have a pretty good selection of represses, gonna get me some Stevie Wonder next week lol. Superstition on vinyl will be sweet!

Any other vinyl lovers?

Heres a pic to make you jealous big_smile

I'm a big time vinyl lover so much as it's gone back to the dominant format I purchase music on. I collect all the old greats and am loving the re-issues a lot of labels have been putting out these past couple years.

My good lady is getting me a record player for Xmas - spent far to long collecting MP3s and forgetting how good it is to get a shiny new album, look at the art, read the lyrics etc etc instead of just being a file on the Ipod. Already got a few sweet records lined up and I'll finally be able to give my copy of Live Like A Suicide a spin. Cant wait.

Its great fun, one thing I notice how you sit and listen more intently and pay attention to the song more. I was delighted to find that Slash's funky guitar on the outro to Locomotive sounds a lot more dominant. On cd it drifts in and out from behind the piano and vocals.

I joined that itunes site in the buildup to chinese democracy, I'd never bothered about it before. I downloaded the single on mp3 and thought WTF is this?! It sounded shit. I havnt downloaded anything else from the site, fuck that, if I want new music I'll go out and buy it on cd or vinyl and hear it how its supposed to sound.

Aren't you an M.I.A. fan, or am I thinking of someone else here?

If so, I highly recommend Kala. In fact, Kala should be one of your first vinyl purchases, even if you're not much of a fan.

Some other albums that deserve a vinyl listen....

Fleetwood Mac- Rumours
Kiss- Unmasked
Led Zeppelin- The Song Remains the Same
Nazareth- Hair of the Dog

Been wanting to listen to Elastica's first album, but I just cant make myself open it. Took me years to find that vinyl sealed, and I don't want to ruin it. While it may not be worth a ton, its one of the highlights of my collection simply because it took so long for me to acquire it.
