Re: New Guitarist for GNR?
Taking someone as high-profile as Thayil has four big problems
- He might cost more
- He might have the balls to stand up to Axl
- The media might split the spotlight between him and Axl
- He might write songs his way, instead of conforming to Axl's style
You may say that Buckethead had these issues, but Buckethead ain't in the band anymore.

Let me introduce, the GNR Training Camp for future members.
Let the queue begin.
Graduation sees you walking though the shiny golden revolving door to you new life
Re: New Guitarist for GNR?
I know Thayil would never do it. Just always been a personal pipe dream of mine since Bucket bailed. Every time its speculation time for a new guitarist, I gotta throw his name out there.
He could actually walk into the situation and Axl be able to choose which of the three slots he should fill. That in and of itself should make him be considered for the position.

Re: New Guitarist for GNR?
After watching the amp vid, I can state that this guy isn't GN'R quality.
I don't find anything in Ron's statment that would deny the little guy is in the cards though.

So you think he's in for the run for the new lead GNR guitarist spot?
So if I knew Ron, came down to listen to their reharsals and surf the web on his laptop while drag and drop sounds on Magix, you would put me in the run for the Chris Pitman subsitute spot?
