This guy is a nobody and absolutely not talented. He got a chance and 2 songs, then took the opportunity to market himself.

They can't get a good male singer for sure, since Lenny said no to their offer. I really think Slash should change his attitude and get a lady who can sing. Even Elan would be fantastic, and a bluesy VR with Linda Perry would be heaven. Anyway, it's easier to find a great female singer today than a man with charisma, talent, voice and good song/lyrics-writing ability.

Yeah, would be cool to have someone like Linda Perry or Pink front the band. Hell, I loved his collabs with Fergie, wouldn't even mind her (although that's not very likely to happen wink ).

I dig Fergie's voice and stage presence, too.

Not impressed. Definitely does not float my boat.

Me either.  I wouldn't buy any record with this guy judging by this.

I'm surprised people would want a second-rate Axl to front this band.  I'd rather have them form their own sound... since you know, their name is Velvet Revolver not GNR.  Even Axl formed a new GNR sound.

I want both.

Axl has very unusual, both in singing and writing, so I dont really want to see them get up there with like an Axl impersonator from a cover band type thing.

But that said - I think with scott they went too far away from Axl's edgier sound.

I'd like to see them with someone who can scream when needed, but also sing beautiful melodies the way Axl does - but it seemd last time anyone with such abilities was bounced for being too close to Axl.

So having a few Axl traits would be a good idea.

But to me this isn't the guy for the job, boring melodies, unoriginal vocals, no distinctive sounding voice - just didn't sound into it.

it wasn't bad.. but not good either...
*edit*....i take it back. upon a second listen.. it's kinda catchy... he's got the low scott voice.. but the axl wail as well. not original.. but they could do much worse.
i get the feeling this could've been leaked intentionally to gauge potential fan response....

There's worse choices, but I wouldn't expect a good album with him in the line-up.
