My activity on the other GNR sites in 2009:

mygnr: 3 posts
HTGTH: 0 posts
cd.com: 0 posts
newgnr: 0 posts

What goes on at other sites(whether with Evo members or not) has no reflection on what goes on here. In fact, I don't care what goes on at the other sites. While I do lurk at mygnr as I consider it the only decent site out of the sites listed above, what anybody does there has no consequence to the functioning of this site. Only exception would be a situation where lets say someone is harassing you there, and they sign up here to do the same thing. Obviously, this person would be liquidated.

As for agreeing, this is a site where the most active posters, who I'm also not going to name drop, aren't even prepared to read an interview, before they start calling it weak and pointless.

Isn't this an assumption? How do you know whether or not someone read something?

I'd also like to point out certain members; contributions amount to "I'm not really interested" or "I don't really care" in every fucking thread. I really want to hear your thoughts on this one.

You're equating someone saying "I'm not interested" then leaving a thread to someone typing "I agree" 20 times in one thread?

...And typing out a thousand word+ post, does not instantly make your opinion more valid.

Never said it did, although I'll take a thousand word post over a smiley only post any day of the week.

Tell that to the people my post was directed too.

Your post was essentially aimed at this entire site by saying GNR Evolution is "elitist".

Karma or as it used to be called Reputation.

Karma makes you vital? Thats news to me. I better add that to the mantra. The feature is used to give someone props for a post you like, download posted, etc. Its also a way for the members to quickly identify trolls and "punish" them accordingly.

It isn't a status symbol.

Notice how there's a warning system at mygnr and a karma system for staff at HTGTH? This is basically the same thing, except its controlled by Evo's members and not a toy for staff members to play with.

Go to the "Gn'R" section, 3/4 of those threads feature Information/News found originally on other sites.

If they say they say something like nothing to do with "Gn'R", when theirs a full 3 paragraphs about "Gn'R".

I think typing out "I'm not interested" 20 in one thread is as bad as.

I think otherwise.

Maybe that HTGTH bit is true, but on MYGNR I can't see what other peoples warning levels are.

I didn't say that, I said I wanted an explanation as to why they believed it.

You're looking for 100% pure original content that is unfiltered. Tell me when you find it.

Got a link to this thread?

I think otherwise.

Maybe that HTGTH bit is true, but on MYGNR I can't see what other peoples warning levels are.

So based on karma levels, you think I'm King Lou but a top quality poster like Jimmythegent is shit, and you base these assumptions on karma levels?

If they say they say something like nothing to do with "Gn'R", when theirs a full 3 paragraphs about "Gn'R".

If someone makes a comment like that, I think it means the content wasn't exactly what they were wanting/expecting to read. I do agree though that sometimes certain negativity can go a bit overboard. However, I'm not the thought police, and as long as people can act like mature adults, Its not really my business whether or not someone loves or hates an article.

Majority.

Again, what you or somebody else posts at other places on the internet has nothing to do with GNR Evolution. I don't monitor your thoughts on other sites, nor should I be expected to.

No.

Proportionately compared to the other big sites, but I don't think naming names and posting links is going to be very fun.

What does that have to do with anything...? huh.gif The original avenue of this argument was me, saying the majority of posters here are active posters on other sites.

I'm not trying to defend other staff at other sites, given I've been banned from HTGTH myself in the past.

What I'm trying to get across, is that I don't think everyone on HTGTH and MYGNR that supports the band is an idiot or just doing it because they think they're going to get a reward, that is what my issue with "Olorin" and "war" is. If you believe this too Lofton, which I would presume that you don't, then you've lost all my respect.

This thread wasn't "fun" to start with. wink

So in other words what happens on the other forums, does have an influence here.

Not sure where you're going with this, and since my prior references didn't seem to get my point across, maybe some M.I.A. references will....

There are three MIA sites. One a basic forum, the other a blog type web site, the other a livejournal community. Do you think MIA does newsworthy things to cater to each of these sites? No. Each of these sites discusses the same news that the rest of the world sees. One site's member getting a google news alert  a nanosecond quicker than a blog member doesn't change anything. Each site discusses the latest news. Does one site "influence" another? No. Not sure why you think me talking about M.I.A.'s own record label on a forum would somehow "influence" what someone on a blog says about the same label. Who cares? Its different people talking about the same thing on different formats. In other words, what has occurred since media outlets have existed.

Joe Blow from random internet site gets the scoop on Brain two seconds before Joe Blow from a different internet site gets it, and both random internet sites discuss this hot off the wire news alert that went from google/yahoo straight to their inboxes.

This is shocking?

If anything influences GNR sites, its newswires. Don't blame me. Blame Yahoo, Google, the Associated Press or Reuters.

What does that have to do with anything...?

It has everything to do it. I've been labeled an elitist that runs a site influenced by other GNR sites, and this exclusive content on other sites you refer to is nothing more than someone simply monitoring google/yahoo news alerts for the same stories anyone with a pulse sees.

Can you write off a list of news articles that is actually exclusive to ANY of these sites?

The original avenue of this argument was me, saying the majority of posters here are active posters on other sites

Of course GNR forum members post at various sites. Its why you see the same thousand people at all of them.

I don't think everyone on HTGTH and MYGNR that supports the band is an idiot

No one is saying people who support the band are idiots. I support the band. Am I an idiot? Just because certain people don't like certain sites or how they operate doesn't mean they consider fans of the band idiots.

this site is not elitist, its a small community where you can talk about anything gnr without being critisized that you are a Slash fan or that your fav album is TSI or that you were pissed off at the setlist or latest tidbit of news....and we've always tried to keep the inter-forum politics to a minimum...we may not be perfect but we do our best to keep as many people satisfied as possible

To use a few high-end examples... Dexter, MSL, jarmo and this very thread.

Since alot of forum users here probably posted in the same topic on another site, I think it does influence them.

James Lofton wrote:

I didn't label you or this place elitist, I asked why they felt that way about this site.

They did or they implied it, which means it's for them to answer.

I don't really care enough to argue about this and I really don't think this has anything to do with my argument against them.
