In Duff's interview, he confirms that VELVET REVOLVER has NOT yet found a singer to replace Scott Weiland. He reveals that he has heard the new ALICE IN CHAINS album and calls it the best album of the past 10 years. He also discusses Slash's book and LOADED's new album.

Re: New "Talking Metal" Podcast Featuring Duff McKagan
Just checked this out. It's worth a listen. Some interesting stuff
1. Duff said that, wittout wanting to disrespect scott, they all felt that VR has not yet recorded it's best album, like the album they have the potential to make together. (I strongly agree with this. I enjoyed the VR records...but I feel Slash and Duff and Matt have an awesome chemestry that can be pushed farther than those records).
2. That there has been some singers that he liked but that they need to all agree. They're looking for something great not just good.
3. He showed a lot of class by once again not running down either Axl or Scott when he was given an opening to discuss if they were difficult to work with.
4. He basicly said that when people tell him something is impossible is when he likes to get it done, and that people should not imply VR is all over.

That's why I like Duff.
He's such a sweet guy. Always have been and always will be.

Re: New "Talking Metal" Podcast Featuring Duff McKagan
Yeah...it's interesting that even in the face of Axl's harsh words of late they keep the same level of tact that they've pretty much always had. It's always felt to me as if they go to a lot of trouble to not say anything that would prohibit a reunion one day...which is really only common sence I guess....as let's face it...historically most bands in similar situations do eventually bury the hatchet to some extent.
It certainly seems that Axl is of a pretty firm mind it's not going to happen though. So unless he has a change of heart in latter years (which is always possible - people always grow and change as they get older). It does seem pretty unlikely.
Untill that day, I hope they find a new singer for VR that's totally awesome...there must be someone out there...imagine someone like Axl or Cornell or someone amazing like that...but brand new...would be so kickass....
Re: New "Talking Metal" Podcast Featuring Duff McKagan
I don't think a Gay American Idol winner is gonna be the right singer for VR. No mater how much talent he has.
You may be right, but perhaps it's just what VR needs. I'm not sure one way or the other, but it could have potential.
Realistically it will never happen. He will win the competition and go do his own thing rather than hook up with some 40 year olds. I'm just throwing out an idea. I think he'd be great and he could sing just about anything.
