Disclaimer: The Seeding of the top 64 was randomly generated by Random.org. Its just the way the cookie crumbled so no complaining. Additionally the top 64 is based on the nominations thread as voted by the members of this message board. I nominated 6 shows only to serve as the tiebreaker to round out the top 64.
Re: GnREvolution Television Madness - Discussion and Results Thread
ok so lets throw out some rules on how we'd like to see this run
do we wanna do the NCAA style format again?
what kind of shows arent allowed? (game shows, reality shows etc.)
how many shows in the tourney?
the british vs us factor?
one day between rounds or more?
etc etc let me know what your thinking

Re: GnREvolution Television Madness - Discussion and Results Thread
I say go for any kind of tv show, what the hell let em all compete. like i said in another post somewhere we could maybe give British shows a double score or an extra point for every 2 votes they get as clearly alot of the American members won't have seen them thus from the start they are at a disadvantage.

Re: GnREvolution Television Madness - Discussion and Results Thread
Yeah i think all shows just for a laugh. I should have added in like a "World News Tonight" or something. One per day is good. The more shows in the merrier.....I don't have a big view on the English vs USA thing given i'm in australia...I think we get both.
Re: GnREvolution Television Madness - Discussion and Results Thread
Could we divide the sitcoms from the dramas? I don't think having the Sopranos go against something like Wings would be really fair. Throwing them all into one big random batch could have a lot of bizarre results. I like the inclusion of British shows as I have been meaning to check out Fawlty towers.

If you have'nt already seen it i urge you to start with Only fools and horses, Fawlty towers is excellent but fools is tops.
Oh and i like the possibilities in the random matchups
Re: GnREvolution Television Madness - Discussion and Results Thread
I say segregate the British into their own quadrant. Otherwise, a great British show could lose to something like Wings.
You can try to seperate the dramas vs comedies, but I wouldn't make it a deciding factor in nominations (ie 16 comdies 16 dramas). Just get the best shows in, then if you want try to segregate them do it as best you can. I personally think no reality shows deserve to be in it. Most are only good for about a year & a half at best. Myb the Reall World though, since it was first & has decent longevity.
Re: GnREvolution Television Madness - Discussion and Results Thread
Absolutely under NO circumstances, should reality shows, documentary, or "how to" shows, be nominated.
Fictional comedies or dramas only, imho.
I think it would also make more sense to face off comedies vs. comedies and dramas vs. dramas the whole run, until the final match, which should be comedy vs. drama.
