Since we've been home I've been working on a song with Slash for his solo album. It's a killer track and he plays some of the most technical stuff I've ever heard from him.
But since it's his record and not mine, more updates will have to come from him.

Very cool, good to hear Slash is playing at the best of his ability on the solo stuff.

I saw Avenged Sevenfold a few times in 2006 as an opening act to Guns N' Roses and Metallica and they were a great live band. Their cover of Pantera's song Walk was brilliant.

Cool news as usual regarding Slash's solo record, but I'm not that fond of his voice.

I agree, hopefully this will more than make up for his lackluster performance on Libertad.

His performance on Libertad wasn't lackluster, hiding him in the mix was.  There is some pretty good guitar work hidden if you listen for it.

Agreed, there are hidden gems on it.  Just not enough tho.

I always saw Scott's songwriting as the weakest part of VR. There was some pretty interesting music on Libertad, much more interesting than Contraband, which seemed to me as pretty generic as a whole.

But Slash had some great moments on Libertad that were never fully fleshed out the way they should have been.
