SVU. Great show, and I agree with axlin08 that it is better than the original series. I had a massive burnout on Law & Order and CSI a few years ago and stopped watching them all, so I have no idea what the current quality is. First four or five seasons of SVU are pure gold though. So are the first three seasons of Criminal Intent.

I'd say the first five seasons of Criminal Intent are great.  They added Chris Noth (Det. Logan) in S4 because of VDO's burnout.  I don't think the quality suffered because of it.  After S5 they dumped Courtney Vance (ADA Carver) and Jamey Sheridan (Captain Deakins) and I don't think the show has been the same.  It became more streamlined and conventional and lost the psychological edge that made it different from SVU and the Mothership.  It's on USA now for the last two years and they added Jeff Goldblum this year but the mysteries aren't as interesting and in general very predictable.  I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Stephanie Seymour appearance on an CI episode (it was in S1 or S2).

Regarding Law and Order, I almost quit watching a while back when they added Elizabeth Rohm and Fred Thompson a few years ago.   At least it led to the infamous :  "Is this because I'm a lesbian?" line. The show has never fully recovered from Steven Hill's departure.  He's the character I miss the most even more than Lennie Briscoe.

Anyway, they ended up shifting personnel (the Law and Order tradition) and the show is watchable again.  They added Jeremy Sisto and Anthony Anderson on the cop side and added Linus Roache (Batman's dad) as an ADA.  Sam Waterson got elevated to the DA role and he seems comfortable there.

In "GnREvolution Television Madness" fire represents death, when the Show's theme song plays, the show goes up in flames, when the names are read, the decision is final and they must leave the tribal council area immediately. I'll go tally the votes.

Dexter, bring me your torch.
