I really liked The Office in the first couple seasons. Lately though it's gone downhill. I'll still throw it my vote though in hopes it'll rebound. I think The X Files was stronger earlier on too. Loved the movie too, the first one at least. I think there was a second one, wasn't there?

Like the US version way better than the UK version of "The Office", great show, but loved "The X-Files".

Both very good shows, X-Files will win and probably should because it's a classic show in TV history, but I prefer The Office US personally.

The X-Files
The first half - amazing. Some of the best, if not THE best TV ever to air.
The second half - god fucking awful, and painful to re-experience.
Fight The Future was the jump the shark moment. The movie was good, but signaled an end to the old, classic show. The move to California just threw the vibe of the show off. Now you had sunny LA and deserts, whereas before you had this murky, creepy vibe in the forests and wetness of Vancouver, BC.
The mythology had also ran it's course by Season 6, and was pretty much finished with that two-parter that year where the entire syndicate was killed off (which happened far too early, and I think led to the show's major decline in quality). Season 6 seemed weak in comparison to Seasons 1-5. But the worst was yet to come. Season 7 with this whole every episode being a comedy thing was stupid as hell, and boring. Probably the worst season. Season 8 did breathe some fresh air into the show with the introduction of Robert Patrick, but ONLY to the mythology episodes, and Season 9 was a reinvention of sorts, with good characters (I liked Doggett & Reyes), but the storylines were boring as fuck.
The show had a good series finale imo, with The Truth. But that I Want To Believe movie from a couple years ago, was another godawful exhibition of the series.
