speaking of 2001.....I had never watched this. The download thread made me search it on youtube. This sounds fucking perfect. Easily my favorite performance of KOHD. Anything closer to Dylan is right up my alley, but Axl really puts some feeling in this as does the whole band. The video is much better than listening to an audio download.

Best performance since the 87-93 era. Wont be topped either. People can call Bucket a freak or Finck a meth fueled goth fag, whatever, but they were on fire that night. Riad should have been performed at that show. If the song was ever going to be done justice in a live setting, it would have been that night.

Would have LOVED to see that line up on that specific night tackle IRS, Better, If the World, CITR, Riad, and TWAT.

Instead we had to live in the past reminiscing. Shame.

I'm with ya....but I do like that one......that band doesn't exist anymore so it's a moot point.

just watched Rocket Queen and Bucket and Brain were definitely in to the semi funk of that song....Bucket would be killer on that solo. Unfortunately, Axl let's Tobias do it. 17 Tobias is fine with fill in rhythm but Bucket should have been full time lead on everything and he would completely slay that solo. Oh well....I'm living the past. 16

I don't care for ANY version of new-era KOHD.

There's two versions for me, AFD-rawer / UYI-reggae... nothing else exists.

Oh, man... Rock In Rio 3 is easily my favorite GN'R show ever.

While it isn't the best sounding concert by any means it features loads of unforgettable moments that I'll always remember with warmth.

Axl Rose himself said it the best:

"The whole show was very special. The public was very warm and receptive. The sound and the musical side didn't come out very well for the band, but it was very exciting for us to know that we could make such a big show that was very new for all. It was something very important for the new band."
