Look, it sucks that your show was canceled and not rescheduled. We get it.

But what are we supposed to do about it? Feel sorry for you?

It happened three years ago. I think it's time to let things go when you aren't even interested anymore.

Nothing is happening.  All of this happened before and the end result was bad.  They haven't sold out a tour in NA since the early 90s.  Now they plan 3 shows within an hour and a half of one location in Canada and expect good sales for a group nobody is interested in?  Sounds like the cancelled tour in 06 all over again - maybe they'll use the excuse of finishing another album again. 16

This is about wasting my time for the past 15 years, not a single event.  It's about my favorite band continuing to be an embarrassment.  I suppose I could just go away, but considering someday he might actually do something relevent, I think I'll stick around in case it ever does.  And while I'm here, I will continue to voice my opinion.  19

Don't be an asshole HBW.  I was in Montreal when Axl did his stunt and it is not fun.  Not sure what happened with Buzz but that is part of the fool me once post I did earlier.  You may not like it but Axl had pissed a lot of people off over the years with his childish behaviors.

How am I being an asshole? Because I made one sarcastic remark?

I'm not trying to sugarcoat a fucking riot. I was only implying that it sucks that the show that buzzsaw was supposed to go to was canceled (ahead of time) and later not rescheduled but that we can't do anything about it and what has happened has happened.

That's a tad harsh. I think even the most negative Nancys want some sort of activity to occur because this has been an extremely inactive year.

Obviously not. There's always something wrong.

Yeah, let's blame Axl Rose for your own actions... That's pretty pathetic.

Have fun continuing your epic journey.

As for a US tour, as I have always said 2000 to 5000 seat theatres with high quality acoustics are perfect for this band. Do a few arena shows in a few major markets-NY, Boston, Chicago....places where they have put more than 10,000 people in the seats on multiple occasions in 2002/2006.

thanks for the info. i think 10.000+ shows are a stretch, but, who knows, last time they went to Canada there wasn't a n album out. that's not necessarily a plus though 19

The 2006 Canada tour was successful to a point. Not every single show a sellout, but the few 'big enchiladas' were. The tour ran into problems here in the States.
....

from what i can find on gnrontour in 2006 Canada only got Quebec and that's it, which leaves the 2002 tour as the last one which was, as you said, successful to a point, unfortunately, that point is called Vancouver. and even in '02 they didn't have that many canadian shows iirc.

i think they should go from a few thousand arenas and build up from there. forget that you used to play stadiums and start from "almost" scratch.

could they use the Japan shows as warm-ups? i mean, they're across the globe and people over there are usually more accepting of new faces in the band. so, maybe they won't do '06 over again with warm-ups in US?

Re: GNR tour dates in Canada?

Well, the shows in Canada back in 2006 had an average attendance of 10,000+.

Both Quebec and Halifax were sold out.

Wow, I never expected they would announce all those shows, I thought they would go for quality rather than quantity. But if they get a couple of singles and videos out and whore the hell out them it could work out pretty great.
For once and for all they need to forget about all the butthurt whiners and unintrested old band fans, and put in some work to win new fans on top of the fanbase they already have, start whoring the songs on that damn album and shove em down peoples throat. If its going to be another incognito, phoned in half arsed promo campaign I'm not confident it will be a success, but with some effort and quality media it could be fuckin awesome.

I have family in Canada and one of them shows is on my 30th birthday, man catching a show on my birthday would blow my anticipated depression to kingdom come.

Congrats to everyone in Canada, and the northern U.S. who will be able to make it.

Hope it happens, and you all have lots and lots of fun. smile

LOL - if they eliminate all the fans of the old band, there is no fanbase.  Good idea.  I'll let you in on a not-so-secret that the album sales should have told you:  Nobody cares about this band.

I was thinking the same thing.
