Re: Gnr's 4 Studio LP'S...YOUR TRACKLISTS

We are not going to include Lies since it was not a studio LP but really just 2 ep's from different times put together....no SI either. Since we were discussing filler in another thread, I want you to tracklist the 4 full lp's your way and omit songs that you feel should have been left out. If you like the way all 4 records are, then you truly are a fan's fan! 16

Yeah me too.  Obviously there are songs I don't like quite as much as others but overall "My World" is the only song I could absolutely do without.

A perfect record, but You're Crazy shouldn't have been on this.

UYI I

Dust N Bones
Perfect Crime
Don't Cry
Double Talkin Jive
November Rain
The Garden
Garden of Eden
Don't Damn Me
Coma

I just played this album for the first time in ages. Not the whole thing obviously, but I'm listening to bits and pieces. While I used to love Bad Obsession, that's not making my list. Neither is another song I've always liked, Back Off Bitch. The older I get, the more grating some of the lyrical content gets. Leaving these tracks off prevents things from getting too monotonous.

Too bad Izzy left. Dust N Bones deserved to be a single.

UYI II

Civil War
14 Years
Yesterdays
Breakdown
Pretty Tied Up
Locomotive
So Fine
You Could Be Mine
Estranged

I have always felt one of the 'big 3' should have been left off(Breakdown, Locomotive, Estranged), but they cant really be classified as filler so they stay.

Chinese Democracy

Chinese Democracy
Better
If The World
There Was A Time
Riad N The Bedouins
Sorry
I.R.S.
This I Love

Give me the 2001 version of the album and some rerecorded vocals on certain songs, I might not have removed anything except Prostitute. This I Love and Better almost didn't make the cut. The album version of Better blows and This I Love is pretty much a cheesy Barry Manilow song(who I like) but Finck tries his hardest to ruin it. Used to love Street of Dreams years ago, but the 10000000000th version was unnecessary. Every song I removed except Prostitute and Shackler's needed new vocals. Go rerecord I.R.S. while you're at it. 16

I am quite the minimalist so I like short tight cd's these days....most of my favorite records are 9-10 songs. I could knock down Chinese more but I was trying to make the most cohesive album in my eyes.

Like James, I had to knock off Maddy and probably could knock off SOD soley due to the vocals being pretty bad in spots. I like the ideas of the songs and the lyrics but the studio versions just fell flat for me. sad Madagascar was easily my biggest disappointment. After Rio in 2001, I thought it was going to be a classic on par with Estranged....didn't happen.

I put Out Ta Get Me on there only because it would be lacking hard rock tracks.  And if I can remove filler I can replace them with awesome tracks 16

UYI

Live And Let Die
Right Next Door To Hell
Don't Cry
Perfect Crime
Double Talkin Jive
November Rain
Garden Of Eden
Coma
Civil War
Yesterdays
Locomotive
You Could Be Mine
Knockin On Heaven's Door
Estranged

I couldn't get rid of the staples, even if they're covers. Just put the others on UYI B-Sides.

CD

I'd probably leave alone, replacing it with the 2002-2004 version.

Re: Gnr's 4 Studio LP'S...YOUR TRACKLISTS

the albums are fine the way they are because that's the way they were meant to be.
