I read that same news story, and it's a scary thing. Even if he recovers, now he might have to worry about seizures, which within themselves can and could be deadly.
Damn shame all around. I just think it's really cool that as much as this guy has been a punchline for alot of years, that there's alot of people out there that really love and appreciate him. I think it helps with his personality being so likable. With the guy's looks and talent, he could've very easily been an egotistical dick, but he seemed to stay very humble.

I've read a few articles where they speculate that this could all be linked to his mishap at the Tony Awards last year when he was almost decapitated. The first article I read that in, the thought was actually put forth by Donald Trump. Not sure what medical expertise The Donald has, but that would certainly be a shame if true. Everyone was making fun of the poor guy when that all went down, and if it were to contribute to something this serious, that's a scary thought.
Regardless, it's things like this that make you value what you have and shows how fleeting life can be.
I'm glad I finally got to see Poison last summer on tour with Def Leppard and Cheap Trick.

thing that gets me....if he's diabetic, you cant let yourself go if you have that, my grandfather went blind and lost a leg from not keepin up with his health and medication ..... he had diabetes ... its pretty serious stuff

It seems like Bret takes pretty good care of himself, at least on these reality shows. He always mentions the diabetes and takes the necessary measures. It had to be rough for him through his life as a rock star. They don't exactly live a healthy lifestyle, but Bret seemed to do everything he could.

POISON singer Bret Michaels' official MySpace page has been updated with the following message:
"To all of Bret's friends and fans, we thank you all for your continued support and outpouring of well wishes for Bret.
"While additional studies are planned throughout the week, to hopefully detect the exact cause of the rupture, Bret will remain monitored closely by his medical team to make sure no further complications occur. He is responding well to tests and treatments.
"Even though yesterday was a minor setback, doctors remain hopeful for a full recovery and plan to release more specific information next Monday.
"While Bret is recovering, we obviously have some shows that are being rescheduled. We are working to reschedule dates from now until May 21st.
"At this time we are planning to resume the tour May 26th in Ft. Smith, Arkansas provided there are no further complications or setbacks. We will then continue with all scheduled dates throughout the summer and fall, including the June and July tour with LYNYRD SKYNYRD.
"Look for additional information in the days and weeks to come.
"For those of you with tickets for shows that are being rescheduled, your tickets will be honored on the new dates. Tickets remain on sale for the shows which are being rescheduled although the new dates have yet to be announced.
Call me skeptical, but this is starting to sound like a publicity stunt to promote his tour/show/book/whatever.
You don't go from your death bed bleeding in the brain to touring in a month, not even in a best case scenario.
He may have had a medical emergency, but probably not as severe as initially reported and he/they are simply capitalizing on the incident.

Considering the fact Donald Trump was just very very closely involved with Bret, him being on The Celeb Apprentice, Trump first came out of the gate and called it for what is was. A bad situation, and Bret was in bad bad shape.
Then his sister comes out, and starts releasing all these statements to the press that are "AWFULLY WORDEY" and provide absolutely no info at all.
I don't think it's a publicity stunt James. I think he is fucked up right now, they don't really know what the hell is gonna happen to him next, family/friends/doctors, no one. And he's got upcoming dates to do shows, and these people have been put on hold.
They don't want to outright cancel, because of the money involved, but these festival shows, and certaintly touring with Skynyrd, I highly doubt he or whoever is taking care of him wants to lose those slots. Because once they are gone. They're gone.
They want to have their cake and eat it too. If he does recover, they want those shows. If he doesn't, then they lose them. Right now, they don't know where he's gonna be at in a month OR they haven't really wrapped their mind around how serious this is.
But I agree with you, if he comes out at the end of next month, doing dates... it'll certaintly cast a shadow over this whole thing. No way a guy who's had an appendectomy, a brain hemmorage, and could have recurring seizures, walks out of the hospital, and starts doing dates in a month.

The guy who owns Metal Sludge posted this earlier today. He definitely has connections, and I look forward to what else he digs up on this story.
Fact is I bought into it. Hook, line and sinker. But now it seems that A LOT of this has been COMPLETELY blown out of proportion.
I have been in communication with SEVERAL people very close to the POISON and BRET camps from over the years, and have heard some very disturbing opinions.
I can't see how a guy goes from Critical Condition to the stage in 30 days. Or why his hospital is still an "undisclosed" location a week into this. Fact is, he's NOT in the fucking hospital. Elvis, Michael Jackson, President Clinton, etc..we always hear where they are...why not Bret? Coz, it's a load of exaggerated HOG SHIT folks!

The fact that he's had a brain hemorrhage, is in critical condition, and yet is supposed to go on a major tour in a month? Smells like bullshit to me.
No doctor in their right mind would let him put himself under that kind of stress after just suffering from a brain hemorrhage. That's a HUGE risk.
