He only does that, because Slash has kind of had to deal with the Steven vs. Matt thing in the past.
In interviews when VR was going on, it was always about Matt Sorum and GN'R, and Steven got upset that Slash didn't care about him anymore, his buddy. Then Slash reassured Steven, and started mentioning his name and not Matt's, then Matt got upset.
If it's that big of a deal, how about a 'double drummer' thing at the show, like KISS did at the 1996 Unplugged show. They had Peter Criss and Eric Singer on drums.
Something tells me that if GN'R gets in tho, there won't be a UYI song getting played, unless they decide to do November Rain or something to acknowledge their entire legacy.

it is voted on by the press so Axl def won't win any favorite votes by those holding grudges. They will do it though just to spite Axl cause it then puts him in a very awkward/bad position.
if he doesn't show up .... it will make him look terrible in the eyes of fans and media etc
Ozzy didn't show, Diamond Dave and a host of others......bullshit.

The funniest thing will be when The Replacements get in at the same time Gnr does. Tommy will not be inducted with Gnr but will be inducted with the Mats....don't laugh. The Replacements are an industry darling...not on the level of The Stooges (Iggy) but they are always in the conversation of critics when they talk about bands getting snubbed.

I hope they get in, and I hope they mop the fucking floor with the rest of the bullshit bands that will be there. If for that one show only, we could all go back in time, it would be truly awesome!

yeah but Ozzy and Diamond Dave don't have the volatile relationship that Axl does with the media..t hey will use this to truly pile on him.

Three years is a long time really.
Lots of issues including:
* Are all original members still in good heath? (god forbid anything else)
* Has Axl either released CD2 or does he have active plans for a CD2?
* What is the status of VR and/or the solo projects of the Ex members
* Will GNR be recgonised as it should be?
* Has there been any personal growth/repair done to the Slash-Axl
friendship even if no other reunion has taken place.
I'll assume that GNR is inducted cos its insane not to induct them IMO.
If we also assume that Axl and Slash do not previously repair their relationship at least on a personal level, then I think a peformance featuring both of them together is unlikely.
In such a situation it seems almost more plausable that Axl would not go, although he might not be so willing to forfit a deserved recgonition of his life's work just because of his issue with Slash, who knows.
If they did talk, would there be some kind of old and new thing happening? Where the old members are the ones inducted, but the new members attend the cermony with Axl as well to achnowledge the later work and future of the band?
So many options.

Coma & Locomotive are more Slash written/driven songs than Estranged or Don't Cry, not surprised he listed them.
i would confidently put money on there being no reunion. the scenario i see going down is Slash n Duff n maybe Steven will appear at the show and they're be some carp band like the Jonas Brothers playing a GnR tribute & axl'll sit in his house on the hill, on his chair of money, watchin the car crash on tv..
