East-Germany during the Soviet period. That's what it reminds me of! A total censorship towards anything not in terms with the partys wishes.

i honestly don't see the connection to a hacked tweet

The connection is this:

The first show started late,  then there's two possible versions of events:

#1 - Axl's Twitter was hacked by someone who thought it would be funny to say Axl canceled the tour.

#2 - Something made Axl get angry and as a consequence of that anger he cancelled the tour (only to change his mind when calmer)

The band says it's #1 and I'm fine to believe that.

However, then a few days later, another show starts late, something makes axl angry and as a responce he cancels a subsequent show.

Now they may in fact be isolated incidents and coincidence, but in any analysis, the fact that he last night demonstrated willingness to cancel shows as retribution,  shows that the second theory isn't implausable. It doesn't mean it is what happened, but it's clear it's very capiable of happening.

Personally I don't really care and will follow and support the band whatever happens, late starts, cancels and whatever happens, I'm just calling this one as I see it, and saying that this incident to me sits rather uncomftorably just days after a similar occurance was denied as fake. It could be just chance. But it's uncomftorable.

Clusterfuck, but somehow it will be the topic of the festival. They show up one hour late, and then does a protest sit down? What the fuck? It's like starting world war three, and then run over to the pacificts side, wanting love and peace for all. So gay.

Nothing cool, nothing rebel like. Just fucking up by coming on an hour late.

Say all you want about the curfew, which is beyond retarded in any way, but if you wanna play and wanna do the right thing. Give the crowd their moneys worth. You show up on time, do your job and give them a good time. Afterwards, you may punch the responsible for the curfew in the face or even sue, but you seriously don't go around that way.

I kind of like it though. Someone had the guts to stand up to him and just pull the plug.

Well, in GNR's defense they did almost get 20 songs in. so it isn't like they played 5 or 6.

only thing crowd didn't get  was Better and PC.

I think its BS to cancel Leeds though and deprive fans who spent a shitload of cash a show.

Yeah, not to make light of the situation, but like D said, it's not like they played 5 songs.  The crowd missed out on 2-3 songs tops.  I understand that it probably shouldn't have come to that, but the crowd still go their monies worth, plus a great story to go home with.

And, Axl canceling Leeds has to do with the promoters, organizers, etc.  Not Sturgis, not hacked twitter accounts.  They had problems with the promoters at Leeds last time out and they almost pulled the plug on them.  Then they were warned about last night and they DID pull the plug on them.  So Axl, and the band apparently, has had enough with their "mis"treatment.  Agree or disagree, I think that's where we're at.

READING FESTIVAL - Apparently the promoter has had a personal grudge with GN'R stemming from 8 years ago, if this was the case why book the band? He knows our show. Let me guess... To take our fans money and then not allow us to give them a show that they payed for. This was clearly not a curfew thing because after cutting our power like a selfish money grubbing prick, he allowed music blasting through out the venue till the early morning. For us this was all about the fans, the show and the music. For the promoter it was all about the money and not about the fans or the music. The promoter was already being a cocky f$#k in the press before we arrived, so yes we went on a little late, and for this we apologies. However, our fans payed to see a show, and that's why we showed up, too give them just that. Sad that this promoter's music festival has little too do with the fans or the love for music. Last night was insane! They pulled the power, but failed to kill the connection as 90,000 people sang Paradise City. Much love to you all!!!"

Fuck off you wanker, if you gave a fuck about the fans you would have came on promptly and gave them a show worth remembering.

I think this is the last straw for me, its a farce, they do not give a flying fuck about the fans. Theres no spinning it into heroic "we did it for the fans" drivel, they shat down the throat of everyone.

This festival has been going for 40 years or something, it is everything "about fans and music", fuck off DJ. Let me know when you's return the million dollar pay cheque or donate it to charity, seeing as you are all about the fans and music.
