The universe is approximately 13 billion light years across and I highly doubt all life must show up in that zone. You're assuming all life is like it is here, which is funny since you give these aliens such insane abilities. You need a certain temperature for complex life to develop. There are life in the deep of our ocean, but it's not like they produce computer parts. Im not assuming all life is like here, Im assuming that it has to be in a "not too cold, not too hot" enviroment to develop something else than microbes and bacteria.
from our point of view, you need certain conditions, maybe.
but we, as humans, are the product of evolution of microorganisms in this certain environment. who is to say that in different environmental conditions intelligent life wouldn't develop? all our features are the product of the environment we are in and our way of adapting to said environment.
so i wouldn't rule out so easily intelligent life at temperatures higher than 200 celsius or lower than -200, that don't breathe like we do or walk on 2 feet like us.
as far as the subject of this topic, could it be a black project? us developed the technology to neutralize nukes and were testing it without the people operating the nukes knowing? i mean, if you have the technology and you'd like to test it, you wouldn't ruin a nuke test and a nuke neutralising test at the same time, would you?
p.s. what good would it do to officially acknowledge contact has been made with extraterrestrial life? it would cause panic to the general population, plus there'd be tons of people trying to find info, pictures and whatever. it would be chaos, so, no thanks, if they have contact, they can keep it
Re: Aliens Are Monitoring Our Nukes, Worry Ex-Air Force Officers
Yes, I get that and there is possibilities of life at extreme temperatures. However, we have microbes and life in extreme places on Earth, and they did not evolve on a better scale than us. It is more far fetched to think aliens can develop spaceships in 200-600 plus or minus temperatures than aliens in a good temperate zone, even if their planet is 100 to 0 plus celsius etc. Go to Mercury and see how hot and cold it is and check if there's life there. It's pretty much dead from any sort of intelligent life. Our Earth is full of life because it is in that zone. Mars sucks because it's not in that zone. What planet is full of life and what is not. Earth is. Not Mars or any other moon in the solar system. We are the highest form of intelligence in this solar system. Adamski, the hoaxer is the 60's, used Venus as his planet of alien origin. It's just laughable today to think he was dumb enough to use Venus as point of origin of his tales.
Could be a black project. The US officials involved this coming monday had no idea about it, so it could be over their heads.
I don't think they really do have contact at all. I think they know there's something going on, but they don't really know or understand it. They've made their conclusions, as the Cometa report did, but they probably have no way of talking or doing anything with it. In other words, our air space is open to them at their own will to use it.

Did you know an Alien space craft wouldn't actually be a space craft but would be a time machine. Because of the distance an alien would have to travel to get to us they would actually have to create a mini worm hole. And the alien craft wouldn't fly they would hover, then hop or jump. Which is interesting when you consider the footage of UFO's. I'm being serious, btw. I saw it on the Discovery channel once.
Carry on.

You have to leave it open to the fact that your assumption is wrong. We can't possibly be so ignorant that we think we know EVERY way that life can develop. The remarkable thing about life on Earth is how well we adapt to our environment and changes in our environment. You can't possibly tell me that in order to have life a planet has to be exactly like Earth. That's bad science.
History has taught us that mixing in with other ways of life and culture, have caused havoc to their societies, eventually leading to their demise. This was quite evident during the days of discoveries of continents.
So by that logic we shouldn't have gone out and mapped the Earth all those years ago? So we just stay in our houses all day because contact with other people only causes problem. The problem is not differences in culture and ways of life, the problem is caused when people are closed minded and intolerant of those other cultures and ways of life because they are so pompous as to think that theirs' is the only right way.
We should be excited to find more intelligent life out there. We should be excited to learn what they have to offer and better ourselves as a society.
That? You can't be serious? What's the range on that last one there?
The range on the first one is 5 years.
There's also this, which has already been test flown.
Falcon Hypersonic Technology Vehicle 2
I'm not finding it dead closed, I'm just ruling it out. See above.
Statistically speaking, with how large the solar system is, the portion that we have mapped isn't statistically relevant. So you can't rule it out. Sorry.

No, it doesn't have to be just like Earth. It can be very different, but ask yourself this; Why does life flourish here and not on Ganymede? Why are we going to the moon while what may be on Europa is below the ice.

No, that's not the logic. The logic was there is reasons as to why these aliens, if they do exist, avoid landing on the lawn at the White House.

Not really what I asked. That prop plane there isn't exactly the next step from SR-71.

Really? Could you give me a source for it? I haven't heard anything about it, and I want to know. Im not being ironic, I actually wanna know.

It got nothing to do with how large it is. It got something to do with what it has to offer. Cassini Huygens are flying around the more interesting moons in the large gas planet region all the time now, and it's mission has been extended to 2017. Another probe is on it's way to Pluto. We got Rovers on Mars, and have mapped the surface of Venus. We've sent a probe down to the surface of Titan, the most interesting moon of them all. Are you saying the scientists are picking the wrong moons to check out?
The only thing we have yet to explore to the fullest are the moons of Neptune and Uranus, and those places barely have any form of sunlight, and we can agree that a sun is usually the provider of life, right?
What are you actually thinking we will find outside Saturn? Habitable moons full of aliens?

The Air Force made it public in April when they flew their first test flight. The test didn't work too well, but the plane is capable of speeds of Mach 20.
Re: Aliens Are Monitoring Our Nukes, Worry Ex-Air Force Officers
Ahhh...it's unmanned. That's why it has slipped below my radar. It looks a lot like many UFO related pictures from the last 10 years or so.
Yes it does. This particular stream of projects started around 2003. It could explain a lot of UFO sightings actually. Especially since they used a Minotaur Rocket to launch this one back in April.
Reaching hypersonic speeds is best left to unmanned aircraft.
Re: Aliens Are Monitoring Our Nukes, Worry Ex-Air Force Officers
It explains some of them, yes.
Not this one though, it might be something else
