I'm a sucker for all things Mac/Apple.

I just watched the "Back To The Mac" event from yesterday. And Apple are gonna launch their own App-store on all Mac desktops and laptops. Similar to what we are used to on iPhone/iPod/iPad.

The title of the event, "Back To The Mac", means that Apple are taking what they have learned from the iOS-operating system on iPhone/iPod/iPad, and bringing it to the OS X (desktops, laptops).

The Mac App Store will launch within 90 days.

Will this mean that Apple are seeing a future where the web are more or less gonna move into the Apps? Maybe. And in doing so, closing their customers more and more into their ecosystem of OS's. Their intentions in doing so, are highly debatable...

Now on to my fantasy...

A Norwegian band (Skambankt) recently launced their own app for iPhone/iPod. There you can get the latest news, videoes, concert dateds etc etc.
As far as I know, few bands/artists have done this. Sure you could use the web-browser on the device and visit bands/artists's own webpage. But if you are familiar with these devices, you would know that using apps are more "user-friendly". Nobody uses a web-browser to access their FB-page. You use an app!
And considering that it is estimated that Apple are gonna sell around 30-50 million iPads next year, pluss iPhones and iPods. The market for apps are gonna skyrocket in the very near future!
Hell, that market is allready huge as fuck!

Jeez, I'm really ranting here....

As the thread-title suggests, how cool would it be if GNR really put some work into a killer app!!??

We all know why I call it a fantasy! But damn, I would be all over that fucker!
