Re: A pistol?
I wouldn't and i'm not lying. For me, it's just not worth it. The asskissing i'd have to get that job. Fuck it.
Same here and its definitely not a lie. If Axl emailed me tonight telling me I could follow him for the tour, I'd decline. I'd accept the offer for one show, maybe two, but that is it. Have no desire to be a groupie. If I was there, would talk to Bumblefoot a bit, would be interested in meeting Stinson, and if I came face to face with Axl, I'd probably pass out in shock. Wouldn't mind talking to Dizzy. Don't give a fuck about anyone else in the band so I'm definitely not suited for the job of following them like a 21st century dead head.
While people can agree or disagree with how Jarmo handles his site, he deserves to do what he's currently doing. In the early days of the net and you searched for GNR, only a few things came up...
Jeff Boreo's site(what happened to him?)
a little site called HTGTH
very basic bulletin boards
Jarmo is the ONLY webmaster from those days still going strong and dedicated to the cause. I don't go to HTGTH and don't really give a shit what goes on there, but when you get down to brass tacks, he's old school through and through and doesn't deserve the shit he gets for being in the position he's in.
Re: A pistol?
I dont like him because he speaks to people like they are shit on his shoe, not because he gets to dangle at the coat tails of the band.
I couldnt care less about getting backstage either, would love to chew the fat with Axl for sure, but couldnt ever bring myself to loiter around the venue in the hope of cosying up to someone who could blag my way back there.
Tommy and Ron are other 2 guys I respect the most and would enjoy getting a chance to hang out with them, but I'm sure all of the band would be good company, they all seem very down to earth and pleasant.
I go to concerts for the music and live theatrics, even if I was on buddy terms with the band I would prefer to be out in the crowd watching the whole spectacle, fuck hanging around the edge of the stage, that view sucks! And pretty much always by the time the show is over I'm drenched in sweat and ready to go home, especially by the time a GNR concert is over.
But the fact they gave my country a wide berth recently and are now waving goodbye to europe means my chances of ever swapping make-up tips with DJ in any kind of setting are pretty remote

Deserve's got nothing to do with it. He's an asshole and a coward. Those kind of characters tend to catch some shit.
I'm not ignoring his good qualities, but I won't use them as an excuse either.
