We share that wet dream but honestly I'm not sure if he could do anything with it. That's not a knock against him either. Cornell would probably have difficulty with it as well. It's just so beautiful and its songs like that where I agree with Bri that a lot of this stuff is meant to be instrumentals.
A song from Electric that's really deserving of the GNR treatment is Sketches of Spain. Rework it a bit and it could have been their 'Nothing Else Matters'.
Witches on the Heath is another.
You could throw Robert Smith from the Cure on vocals for both Electric Tears and Colma and he'd compliment the songs incredibly well. Robert would come up with some heart wrenching and beautiful lyrics to match the emotion of those albums.
here's an example of something I think it would sound slightly similar to but obviously with more emphasis on the guitar

well, being real for a moment, GNR fanatics like to think that Axl has surrounded himself with the greatest musicians ever assembled when in reality that couldn't be further from the truth. Just because someone is in GNR doesn't elevate them to being the greatest players of all time. Heard someone scoffing at the fact Slash's band got nominated for a Classic Rock award, as if his band are some third rate slouches with no talent or something.

^ Yeah that is sad.
I mean basicly from a musicianship point of view I think you have to be very good to be hired by either slash or axl, music at their level is big business as well as all the fun, so if they're going to pay band members you'd expect them to be the cream of the crop or otherwise unique.
As for sorum, most people seem to hate him, and I'll admit I have a fondess for popcorn just cos GNR was his life and he was cool on AFD, but, in terms of having a drummer, you couldn't ask for a much better drummer in your band than matt. His UYI and VR drum parts are cool as hell.
So i never really got why people obsess over brain.
Frank seems pretty cool at the moment, he has kind of a mixed feel - he's a bit like adler but also a bit like the others. I also liked the Slash drummer with myles...he was belting the shit out of that kit!

Boggles my mind that people can say Bucket is boring, lacks emotion, or whatever the Bucket hater catchphrase of the day is. His immense talent was wasted in GNR, which is fucked up.
AS far as Brain goes, he's kicking major ass in a few of those clips regardless of his ability to play YCBM.
Bono, I love that song from The Cure. Always amazed me how so few GNR fans like them. Their mid/late 80s material is incredible. Gonna download Wish. Haven't heard that album in ages.
