Re: The 2010-11 NFL Season Thread
Andrew Luck is returning to Stanford next year.
He must've heard how bat-shit crazy the Panthers owner is the other day.
I thought maybe Luck knew Harbaugh would be remaining in Stanford as well and that's part of the reason he made the decision to stay. And it looked that way last night/this morning. But apparently Harbaugh is going to San Fransisco after all. Can Miami possibly pick up the pieces and make up with Tony Sparano after they completely disrespected him in their pursuit for Harbaugh? I guess it's a good thing they didn't fire Sparano, but they should have kept a little more quiet about their interest in Harbaugh. Not much class there.

wow...i cant beleive that seattle took out NO...i guess just stands testament as to the Saint's inconsistancy all year
same with Indy too i suppose, just having peyton isnt enough anymore, they need a strong running game to compliment his abilities next season or they may not even make the playoffs
Re: The 2010-11 NFL Season Thread
He stayed one year too long.
as true is that is i don't necesssarily think it is because he can't play football any more or is too old to handle the hits or physical demands. ending on the season he had in 2009 would have been a great final chapter in his career despite teh fact that vikes outplayed the saints and shoulda went to the super bowl if it werent for his interception and/or the 12 man on the field penalty.
the two hits that caused him to miss playing time would have done the same for anyone (getting your throwing shoulder slammed to the turf and your head to the frozen ground in minneosota).
his performance was terrible but more so an indicator of all of the problems he was havnig off the field combined with the fact that he and his receivers had either missed training camp and/or been injured through the first half of the season and the O Line was terrible as well.
ultimately it sounds like he is for sure not coming back and that is his desire but...if he wanted to go out on a more positive note he could and i don't think things could go much worse than they did last year for him.
the vikings look to be right back in the mix next year with a better coach and coaching staff the philosophy will be to get back to running the football and playing solid defense. they will also be looking for a veteran qb to come in and manage the offense while the promising but green jow webb gets his feet wet.
this is the exact same scenario they were in when favre joined the team in 2009. what went wrong was coach childress and favre butted heads and childress lost control of the team and offense slowly as favre flourished passing the ball and calling his own plays.
don't think he'll be back but if it were me and going out on a good note was my number one priority...i'd come back, assuming mn fills it's holes during the offseason.

Re: The 2010-11 NFL Season Thread
Falcons fans must be in a daze right now, but I love watching Rodgers play and have been rooting for Green Bay in the NFC since the preseason, so I love it. I think they'll beat the Bears or the Seahawks too.
Yesterday's games were the ones I thought would be most interesting, I don't really think Seattle or the Jets have the talent to beat the Bears/Patriots respectively. But we'll see. The NFL is weird.
