Re: highvoltage from MYGNRFORUM Mod Team responds to recent thread removal

My assessment of the whole situation...

Did Eric tell the rest of the mod team he got a legal letter - yes.
Did he really get one or was it a saving face attempt after the fact because he kowtowed to the GNR camps request - possibly.

Why did thenewguns website and cd.com censor the stuff.  They haven't mentioned anything about a legal letter?  Have they all suddenly got the same collective social conscious or did they just get the same request to take it down as Eric with an implied loss of privileges if they don't follow suit.  With no legal threat at all?

If they really did get a letter threatening legal action why wasn't that sent on to other sites.  Metal Sludge had that list up and the Ron stuff, if they already had the letter drawn up how hard is it to send it on. I would suggest Metal Sludge has a bigger following than mygnr too. Similarly whilst this site is small we kept the stuff but didn't get one.

Also why has all the stuff conveniently come out now after MSL has been silenced.  He has presumably done some sort of deal and so can no longer talk about it.  So he can't pipe up and perhaps provide a different perspective on this.  Oh hang on, Eric is back from holiday now, that's why a month later they can conveniently offer saving face answers.  This just happens to coincide with the MSL dog being put on a chain.

Finally, if they really did get a lawyer letter then they may wanna rethink how valuable those backstage passes are.  Because this highlights that they will turn on you and throw you to the dogs in an instant if it's in the Guns camps best interests.

On a side note I saw this posted somewhere else which I though was interesting because I already thought it when I read the thread.  High Voltage said

An unfortunate set of circumstances caught us out, involving most of us being extremely busy and Eric for a period having limited access to internet while in vacation in Cuba (MYGNR is blocked there, to make things more difficult).

Then one of the other mods Montrealer comes on and says:

I was the one in Cuba last week so I wasn't able to spend time to clean the thread and not all mods have access ot it.

Jeez people at least get everybodys story straight if you want people to believe you.

Doesn't he know that "one bad apple spoils the whole damn bunch."

The BBF posts are now back in this thread : http://www.mygnrforum.com/index.php?showtopic=175152

on that thread the lesser mods are taking a bashing. I would like the BBF part here without all that boards politics.

I dont have time atm to pull all that here and match  it up with the BBF quotes we do have ill try to work on it some time this weekend/monday for its own thread if people are still interested in it ?

I'm starting to think Highvoltage is being honest. GN'R isn't looking too good over there right now.

"These threads were online way before Eric went on vacations. We, the mod team, will always delete documents or audio that are leaked on our boards or any request for illegal stuff. There was nothing illegal to discuss about someone claims.
It was a cheap shot to send Eric a legal request. We had received no request of any kind before Eric received it.
This forum cost a lot of money to run. This is a hobby for Eric, the mod team and all the members of this board.

That kind of action is what is killing the fan base slowly. If there's a bad apple in the basket, don't blame the whole group.

The legal letter was the warning, moron (not you op, Montrealer). You are lucky you got that and not a court summons. Anyone printing possible emails or slander about a celebrity is going to get one.

Also, tell Eric to post the stupid letter. Let's see how bad it really was. Or if it exists.
