Re: 2010-2011 NHL Season
Huge win for the Sabres last night. I'd seen LA blow a 4-0 lead and seen the Rangers blow a 3-0 lead, and when the Flyers tied it up 3-3 in the third I was really down. Game 5 is so huge, had a great penalty kill late in the period and Ennis wins it in OT. Up 3-2 with Game 6 in Buffalo sunday... can't wait.

Yeah huge opportunity slips away with that loss. I've only seen two Sabres game 7s, one in 06 and one in 01, both losses in close games. I'd hate to lose another game 7 to Laviolette, especially since I think Lindy has really outcoached him. Philly's probably been the better team in 5 of the 6 games, but they barely have 3 wins.
I'll be ecstatic if Buffalo pulls it off Tuesday, but 3 out of 4 on the road is tough to pull off. Miller will have to be perfect.

its not loud and proud...its more like the lesser of 2 evils
too bad for the hawks and the sabers ... ah well what can ya do i was kinda on the fence in the philly / buffalo game anyway, but its fun rooting for the underdog
i have a feeling that if the habs pull out the win tonight it may turn into one tof those "magical" years for them

Re: 2010-2011 NHL Season
Briere really shoved daggers in my heart all series. Really wish we could've kept him. We could've scratched him every game and won in 6, let alone how good we could be with him out there for us. Hecht and Roy clearly weren't ready to play at that level yet, and Sekera wasn't dynamic either. Horrible game. Felt sick to my stomach for a lot of the second period.
Still, the team has talent issues, was 30th in the league at one point, and lost Derek Roy for the season in December when he was their leading point-getter and the team was way out of playoff position. Lost our first 7 or 8 home games too. Pegula means new money, I'd love to see us make a run at either Brad Richards, or a solid D-man like Bieksa or Brewer. Connolly probably won't be back, but the young kids (Gerbe, Weber, Gragnani, Sekera) have big promise. Ennis I usually include but this series he looked like Max Afinogenov and that's worrisome.
