Re: DAR.fm
This is a new 'beta' program that you can sign up with your e-mail and a password, and DAR.fm will record your favorite talk radio shows, music radio genres, and specific favorite radio stations for you, then e-mail you when the audio files are ready.
There's no program to download, it's absolutely free, absolutely legal, and they do all the work for you. Just select what you want, they'll record it, then inform you when it's ready.
It's like TiVo for radio.
It's great for fans of talk radio, who might like certain talk show hosts that are on at odd hours, whether during work time or sleep time, that you can record and listen to later on your iPod, iPhone, MP3 player, or actual PC computer.
They'll also store the files for you in a locker, tag them for you correctly, and all you have to do is show up and listen.
No catch, great program.
Just thought i'd let some of you guys know.
Re: DAR.fm
I know I was kind of in shock last night at how not only easily usable it is, but the fact - they do all the work, and STILL e-mail you. You don't even have to check on it.
The only hang up, is radio commercials are NOT edited out. BUT, shows are broken up into Parts, so you don't have to download a big honkin' file.
For example, right now i'm listening to Bubba The Love Sponge. His show is 4 hours in the morning, i'm asleep or in school, and so at 4 hours for the show, DAR.fm breaks the show up into 18 parts, at 15 minutes a piece. So you get a segment at a time of sorts. They also provide you some storage space, so you don't have to download all the files direct to your hard drive.
Just very nice, very free, very legal, very easy.
Re: DAR.fm
Just fyi on this DAR.fm, i'm starting to notice some 'beta bugs'. It doesn't always happen, but sometimes the shows record incorrectly, and MP3 links completely go missing.
It's a work in progress. It works most of the time, but there are some issues.
For example, I got an e-mail saying today's show for Bubba was 'complete and ready to listen to', but when I checked the DAR website, and also my locker over at MP3tunes.com, the show was completely missing. All that was there was the first 15 minutes.
