Re: SCOTT WEILAND Is A No-Show At VELVET REVOLVER's SUNDANCE Concert
Yeah, the "missed plane" seems like a total alibi/coverup. Anyway, gotta wonder if a 3rd album does get done with a new singer. If Scott is leaving the band hanging & No-Showing, not really taking a break on good terms. Tough to think who they could get to sing (didn't I run that survey already ) but why take a hiatuss when they may no teven like the singer much anymore.
Who knows,.. ? Oh well.

On the Sundance Festival:
'I sang It's So Easy and I Wanna Be Your Dog and then we were panicking a bit over what to play so Matt [Sorum] got up and sang Patience, Matt's a great singer, he really is. Why wasn't Scott there? Scott missed his plane, yeah, let's say that, Scott missed his plane'¦'
Oh man, sarcastic is he? WOW definitely trouble
On Stone Temple Pilots re-forming:
'That's the rumour that I've heard too, good for him. You can't plan ahead in this thing and if you do you're going to be disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I love playing live and we love this band, but I don't have expectations any more. This is a great band and I'm proud to be a part of it, but it doesn't define me any more.'
Duff will be cool with it if the band breaks up over this.
I am really starting to think that either this incarnation of VR will be no more or it will dissolve all together.

I agree, I think it'll depend on what can be done in terms of replacement singers. They know they will only do 1 more album, so if they can get someone decent enough, with a fairly recognizable name, they might attempt to record 1 last album. Otherwise, Live Era or bonus/unreleased tracks.

Re: SCOTT WEILAND Is A No-Show At VELVET REVOLVER's SUNDANCE Concert
I think Scott pulled this as some sort of power play.
There has obviously been some show down in the band or some sort of power struggle has erupted.
Scott is a no show at his first gig with VR and almost simultaneously announces he's off back to STP in the coming months (which is an obvious slap in Slash's face re: new recordings in April). This is Scott's way of saying to the others "I don't need you guys anymore".
Matt mocked Scott's talk of a STP reunion last year but is probably very worried about that now that VRs record sales have died off and STP looks like a better looking show pony. I would not imagine Scott forgave Matt for that put down.
I would see the Scott / Matt / Slash triad as a messy one with major ego clashes. Scott is probably on a short leash as the guys don't want to repeat the mistakes made with Axl. That would cause tension as Scott seems to revel in his own stardom and is not easily tamed.
I would see Duff as the peace maker and Dave, always viewed by the others as the lesser God, just stays out of it.
Having played in bands for years this has all the hall marks of a member trying to punish the others by denying them his services and telling others (i.e. the press) and not the band that he'son his way out.
Things must be pretty bad in that unit right now..

Or maybe the weather was shit & the pilot didn't want to chance it? There's a reason why Salt Lake City is a snowboarding mecca, it's because they have alot of winter storms. Flights from Bend(where I live & not far from SLC) to Salt Lake City get delayed or cancelled all the time in the middle of winter. But anyways, we'll all find out soon enough, as VR starts their tour in Chicago tonite.

Re: SCOTT WEILAND Is A No-Show At VELVET REVOLVER's SUNDANCE Concert
Yeah i mean i hope it was just the weather too. Its just like duff's comments really make it sound like theres more to it. If it was the weather he could have gone on about the logisitcs of tours and how its easy to get delayed, and then commented about how he is looking forward to recording a new VR album in April. But instead he was cryptic about the plane as if he felt there was a lot more that could be said, then all but said that fun as it is...he didn't care if VR ended.
Re: SCOTT WEILAND Is A No-Show At VELVET REVOLVER's SUNDANCE Concert
Yeah Duff just opened the door for all the VR is done rumors to start up. Before they do VR are suppose to headline Germany's Rocknacht Festival at the end of March and The Dubai Rockfest on the 8th of March I believe.
