But then I've taken to crusing around in cowboy boots of late and I have a ZZtop style beard...so it's possible i'm not stylish....

But Dr. Martens... I always thought the bigger boots always had a 'timeless' and classic look to them. I would figure you could wear those until you're 80.

I'm not really sure what you're wife's definition of "too old for boots". Huh? Typically boots are FOR older and more maturing men. I wear cowboy boots, and they have a timeless quality.

I still wear the Doc boots occasionally, mainly to concerts or something when I know I am going to get my feet trampled on.  It sounds like my wife is a bit like yours Neemo, she doesn't like my Doc's, although I don't think she feels I'm too old, she just doesn't like them!

Of course the other time I wear my doc boots is when I put my white lycra bike shorts on
