second album talk has gone on since 2007 according to MSL docs (which I believe exist).....here is the Castanzo reference/rumor as well.

It would be a good time to release some of the details in those emails....especially the second album ones.

22. January 2007 Geffen Records contract for Second Album

48. January 2008 Axl email about how many albums to release (part 1)

49. January 2008 Axl email about how many albums to release (part 2)

99. January 2008 Axl email about which songs should be on second album

Late 2011 & into 2012: Axl tours the Americas with this line up and CD.

Earliest I can see for the next album is Christmas 2012. Personally, I think it will go the way of Libertad (no buzz around Axl & the band so the album stiffs).

Ditto for Slash & Myles.

2012 - RNRHOF intro will just see Axl not show while the old guys will. No biggie there.

2013
Right about that time, Axl, Duff, Matt & Slash will all be spinning their creative and career wheels as they reach the Autumn of their careers.

It is only here I can see any possibility that all concerned will be desperate enough to at least 'do an Aerosmith' on it and run the band as a business while barely interacting outside of the 'work' environment.

Yeah I agree on the RNRHOF thing. If the RNRHOF is faced with Axl and the new Guns, or the entire old roster minus Axl... no doubt in my mind they choose the latter.

RNRHOF are not gonna dick around with Axl and the drama involved. IF they want GN'R in next year, and Axl's not down with it, it'll be Slash, Izzy (maybe), Gilby, Duff, Steven & Matt up on stage.

All of these people convinced that the RNRHOF are gonna acknowledge the 80 lineups post-93 are just living in la la land.

It's not gonna happen. When they get inducted, it'll be 87-93, and Axl or no Axl.

No offense to you Madagas, but while I'll believe that MSL has something, I do not for one second trust him as far as what exactly he has and whether or not it is what he says it is.  After what Jamester said about MSL spinning an e-mail from Beta on how best to approach Axl into how to "trick" Axl, I don't trust the descriptions of MSL's stolen e-mails.

Yeah, it's unlikely, but imagine how magnificent it'd be if they played 14 Years with Izzy singin' different lyrics... The reunion pressure would be bigger on Axl than ever.

I agree. The ones I posted are pretty generic stuff though. No crazy topics and things that certainly could have been happening at the "alleged" times of the "alleged" emails. 16

I was more providing Neemo with the answer as to where the Castanzo back pay rumors came from.

So maybe, just maybe, according to Axl, things are right on schedule! Or hey! Maybe even ahead of schedule!!!  smile

y'know that thought actually crossed my mind after i posted my last msg.

wouldn't it be sweet if we're sitting here 3 or 4 years time - we've had one or two albums & a world tour by that stage saying, "fuck axl was RIGHT all along"
maybe he is ready to release the stockpile in the vault. maybe that was the plan all along, to get ahead of themselves with the recording & stockpiling of material.

BUT, i don't believe that at all. i don't believe there was or is a plan.
& i don't believe it because i've never seen evidence of a coherent plan, or a plan that has worked the way axl or his management intended it to.

& this stage, Axl is out of time. he's old & irrelevant. he is. even if Uni gave GnR the budget for videos it'd be embarrassing seeing 50year old men prancing around like a young, vital rock band. too much time has been wasted. the moment has passed & all we can hope for now is the chance we'll get some new songs sometime someway..

I don't think there's anything that could happen that would have me saying Axl was right all along.  15 years of nothing wasn't worth anything we get from here on out...even if it's an album full of Estranged level material.

I agree big_smile

If i was the HOF i'd get an all star tribute band to play a couple of GNR classics while the original members sit on and watch in the audience then give a "thankyou" speach.

I didn't find Black Ice embarrassing at all, if anything, the fact that they can still do it is quite inspirational.

Axl's got his unique sound, his chrisma and his musical skills. Fuck relevance...he's still got a lot to offer.:mosh:
