I thought a lot of Metallica's Rio performance was quite sloppy, Kirk in particular was having a really bad night, butchering most of his solos. But they absolutely nailed Orion

Screw it, I'm sticking to the Youtube one. I'm so excited. I remember the last RIR, i did the same thing, stayed up rocking out to GNR on my laptop. This time its a desktop and for now anyway a little earlier than last time.

The video quality seems to come and go on that youtube link. Pretty piss poor for the official live stream of an event this big. Seriously remember U2 streaming their show live from the Rose Bowl to perfect audio and perfect video quality. no excuse for thsi rock in rio stream to be like this.
At least the sound is good wich is what matters most

how long did it take the other bands to go on stage after the last act played?
Usually takes around 20 minutes. Evanescence needed 40 minutes.

I second this, I try to respect other people's music tastes.
...But how dull can you get, almost 30 songs that sound excatly the same, with a few different guitar riffs thrown in to mix up the blandness.
How fucking awesome is "Orion" compared to that?

i listened to rio in 06 live, i was on dial up and out of pure luck i was able to listen to it at the very least, the video wouldnt load at all but i just layed down on the floor next to the computer with my headphones and listened to the entire set
