Re: 2011-2012 NFL Season Thread

Chargers handed the game away. Not that this is at all a new revelation, but Norv Turner has to go. Too many penalties, too many drives stalling in the red zone, too many turnovers. Chiefs somehow in the division race now.

What a sloppy, surprising Monday night game. I haven't caught much of MNF this year so it was nice to watch a whole game, but the number of mistakes (and iffy calls) doesn't bode well for either team against teams in the North or East.

Tebow should be made into a wildcat QB/HB/Slot WR. They could actually do some good with him on certain plays, especially in the Red Zone, but The Bronco's are making really strange decisions as of late.

And I predict they'll make an EXPLOSIVE trade offer for Luck. I hope The Dolphins take the top spot and make the trade. I'm not sold on Luck.

i wish that the pats would utilize their running game more...pretty obvious if you throw every time that the opposing defense will catch on...why arent they using Ochocinco? and their pass defense is fucking brutal infact their D as a whole is terrible

He'll be gone by the end of next year at the latest.  McDaniels really screwed that franchise with all the shitty personnel moves.

You really think the Dolphins would trade the rights to Luck?  I wouldn't unless another team gave me 3 #1 draft picks.  With the draft cap, #1 draft picks are very cap friendly.  The team hasn't had a qb since Marino retired after 1999.  Luck has some warts but so do all QBs.  I think you're wrong on this one--Sparano gets dumped and the new coach gets to coach Luck.  The one caveat I would say is that Luck could "pull an Eli" and refuse to play there forcing a trade.

As long as Luck doesn't end up with the Colts, I'm going to be happy.

The Dolphins used to be my team, but honest to God, they have SUCKED since Marino retired. Even Marino's final game was a fuckin' joke. 67-7 or some shit like that.

I miss the Shula-era Dolphins, SO MUCH.

There will be a few QB's I'd look at over Luck.

What's going to suck for him is if he has to play a SEC team in a bowl game and he's exposed as not so ready for primetime.

Does anyone think Luck could do what cam is doing right now?  Yet, all the experts said they would still take luck over cam... Is this racism?  Cam is a total beast!

Cam is an athletic freak, no doubt. But I think everyone is ignoring what an animal Steve Smith has been this year. Without him Cam wouldn't be having the year he has. Not to mention Shockey, Olsen and that awesome O-Line.

I'm not sure I'd take Luck over Cam, though. I think Luck can handle adversity and pressure better, that's about it.

This kind of logic always bugs me. No kidding without Smith he wouldn't be having the year he's having. Without Welker Brady wouldn't be who he is and without Marvin Harrison Manning wouldn't have been who he is. Aikman wouldn't have been  as good without Irvin  Montana had a guy named Jerry etc etc etc.  QB's are nothing without their recievers.  No kidding.

You can't fault a  guy for throwing to his recievers regardless of who they are.

If Marino had Jerry Rice and Taylor vs. Duper and Clayton, he wins the 4 superbowls....  Marino never had the talent..

Okay, on Cam, Mel Kiper and Todd McShay still say stupid shit like, "he is good now, but how will he handle success", or "how will he handle being rich", or "how will he handle an offseason".... Yet, they don't ask those same questions of Luck.  My belief is they ask because Cam is black and so he will become lazy and blow all his money and not put his team first.  I am sorry, but that is some racist shit.  Meril Hoge has finally come around and said he would take Cam first. A lot of people have come back and said they were wrong about Cam and he blew away their expectations, but still, even after seeing what Cam has done, still say they take Luck.

If Luck were in the SEC, he would be like Ryan Mallet from last year.  Good, but when in the PAC 10, you don't see near the defenses you see in the SEC, which goes back to Cam seeing elite defenses week in and week out last year in the SEC, no doubt that is helping him now.  There is college football, then the SEC, then the NFL...  SEC is the closest you get to the NFL..
