As your internet doctor, I recommend a careful mixture of herbs, whiskey, and percs.

I hope the spirit hits you, though. I've been there in past years.

I feel that way too and have for a long time but I assumed that it's because I've worked in retail since I was 16.

It was awesome about 3 years after getting out of retail when I noticed that I liked Christmas again.

Yeah the greenness of Buffalo is really upsetting my holiday mood

It looks like Christmas here(lots fo snow and minus 10) but I have yet to start shopping and I honestly dont' think I've been in a real store other than convenient stores since November. Christmas music has almost been non existant this year it seems.

My brother and his wife are away for Christmas and my Mom has been invited to friends  for Christmas dinner and my dad live sin Whitehorse but is in hawaii for Christmas.  I'll be going to Calgary on Christmas day to visit my .... friend/ex-girlfriend in alcohol recovery treatment(rehab is the harsh term lol) and then I'll probably hit up a  movie Christmas night by myself or watch football. To be honest I actually like it this way haha.

I'm not a Christmas scrooge, quite the opposite but I really don't enjoy the whole craziness of all the family getting together. My family usually mixes with my brother's wife's family the last 4 years and for me it's too much. Everyone is cool and we don't have any crazy shit ever happen, usually just play board games but I like chillin' by myself. Someday when I have my own family I'll do all that stuff.

Last year I posted on facebook at 6:00pm I was headed to a show if anyone wanted to come. 4 of my buddies text me instantly to say "fuck yes get me outta here"  14 So at least I never feel like that but chilling out by  myself is definitly my preferance the last few years. I enjoy it.

I agree with most of you... not really Christmas-ey.

No real Holiday feel. Not in the mood, don't really care this year. Looks like it's gonna be like 80-degrees on Christmas, which really sucks the vibe out of the day.

And like  Neemo, it's felt that way for the last few years. Halloween is another one that's kind of lost it's atmosphere. It's too hot, and so many people just don't celebrate it.

The more and more my generation seem to have kids, the less and less effort they seem to want to even try. They don't put out lights, they just ignore it.

Then you get all this bullshit about how "we're not Christians", "i'm an Atheist", "we're Agnostic", "we're Jewish"...

None of those things have anything to do with celebrated Christmas. It's just an excuse to ignore. Christmas lost that Jesus-correlation when it got so incredibly commercialized. Same with Easter.

I hope you all are able to enjoy Christmas in your own ways. smile Even if it's just another day for you.

I'm getting SUPER excited for Christmas. I picked up another AWESOME gift for Russ today, which makes him officially overly spoiled, but I'm so glad I have the ability to do it smile smile

Tomorrow is the first of four celebrations we have, with a White Elephant gift exchange at home, then off to my Mom's for Christmas Eve dinner, hanging with my sister most likely that night. We'll go home on Christmas morning and do breakfast and our own gifts, then to my Grandpa's on Christmas day for Chinese food! (Hopefully this is the start of a new tradition!), followed by day-after-Christmas/my Dad's birthday down in Ohio.

I'm still searching for a supplemental gift for my dad and stepmom but will most assuredly survive if I don't find anything.

I am most excited to cook on Saturday and Sunday! Yummy smile

I've been back home from Uni now for a few days and it still does not feel that Christmassy, tbh I don't really mind though, I'm just enjoying the time off.
