Nah I've not been feeling christmasy whatsoever, I'm getting old and I dont have kids or anything so theres no magic anymore, its just one giant pain in the arse to be honest.
I'm a gardener and a very unwelcome sight at clients houses at this time of year, the last thing on their mind is paying the gardener with all the other expense of christmas, so that'll be me more or less out of work till the springtime.
Bought some presents today and just finished wrapping them, sitting down to a wee vodka to relax after a nightmare day in shop after shop after shop, finally feeling a wee bit christmasy... or else I just want to get drunk as a skunk.
The vodka is feeling rather jolly anyway 5

I hate Christmas, didn't have that many good ones when I was younger tbh.

Then new years is just afterwards, to quote Floyd;

"The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death. "

It's something that wears off when you grow older. Time runs so fast I can't get into it before it has disappeared. Don't have time to soak it up, wait for it, think of all those wonderous things to get..it's a children holiday. That's what it is. When you dont have kids, things just run by you. When I get kids I will make it cute for them, bring that feeling back. Now, it comes and goes. Damn quick.

I like christmas. It will gradually get lighter outside - spring is coming and I get gifts and can drink a lot of beer. LOL. You can be agnostic, athiest or non-christian to enjoy it. Christmas is hijacked by Christianity. Go further back and they still celebrated jul.

Yeah, Christmas these days is more about seeing the joy on my niece and nephew's faces when they open and play with their presents. Going to visit my parents later today and do the family Christmas dinner thing. Looking forward to it, it's been a really busy year, and a crazy last few weeks at work too.

I completely and totally agree. Re-living Christmas through your kids pretty much the only way to keep the magic alive. And of course eventually your grandkids. That's how the magic never dies. But for those of us, myself included, that don't have kids... the magic dies. hmm
