You want to know about the world we live in, ask the kids.

Good point. That's what I love about kids. They haven't developed the "adult bullshit manipulator" filter yet.

They shoot straight, and usually when they lie it's so fantastical it's obvious.

I wonder if They draw pics of women being stoned to death for being raped or pics of their mummy disfigured from having boiling water thrown on her or being set alight when the husband no longer wants her?

Or maybe a 12 year old can draw a picture of the 40 year old husband she was sold to for 2 goats and a bag of rice.

Sorry there are some things about the middle eastern culture/religion I will never understand.

I had a friend once in middle school who drew up this entire series of pictures of himself as Leatherface and me as Michael Myers going on a murder spree on Halloween night, basically killing everyone he hated in gruesome fashion.

I did not even remotely encourage, or even say anything authorizing anything like that in his head to express that.

Not only did it depict it through art, but he had the whole thing mapped out, and exactly how it would happen.

Needless to say I was VERY creeped out. VERY. The warning signs were all there.

I heard earlier this year he got busted for child molestation and committed suicide.

On the flipside, I had a friend who did that, and yeah, he had issues.

He had a tumultous coming-to-age, but he got over it and is now a respected member of his community.

With this I mean, according to those close to him, he carries that "there and back again" aura, but he appears to have made his peace with it.

It's always a red flag, but not always a lost cause, thankfully.
