Re: Has a Song ever made you cry? which one, when and why?
Guns N' Roses is the only band that consistently puts me in a mood better than the one I was in before I turned them on. GN'R can be a nice way out of a lot of shitty feelings. That said, the album Mechanical Animals, in its entirety, has made me cry and continues to make me very emotional whenever I listen to it. It's my favorite album.

Never with songs, but a couple times with albums in full.
Blind Melon's Nico was the only time I really cried. It was the first time I heard the album, and the last BM release left for me to buy. The last song is called 'Letters From the Porcupine' and it's a message Shannon left on Brad's answering machine. The grit of audio quality, the look at an early Shannon, and it being the last of his creations for me to see, was too much. With the click of the end of that message it was like Shannon was gone.
Although I've never flat out cried, The Downward Spiral has gotten me to the edge several times. The more of the story I understand, the more intriguing and tragic the album becomes.
