Re: Turmoil In Greece: Greek Politician Punches Female In The Face On Live
Holy shit that was rough, the're all talking over each other, the dude throws some water at the woman in orange, then gets up and BLAMMO !!
There was also the guy who had lost everything, and became a homeless dude in Greece, who shot himself in the main city square as people walked by, rather than continue with nothing.
Being in the UK and on the edge of the euro-zone here, the business news is full of crisis talk at the mo. Every morning on the radio on my way into work they debate the current crisis.
And now even China is cutting rates as its own growth slows, because everyone else aint buying their stuff right now.

an exciting time to be alive.
tbpfh i was initially disappointed in the vid. the report i read wasn't clear about how he threw the water over her, it read more like he'd glassed her & then started beating down the other woman. so the reality was a little tamer than what i'd been lead to believe.
still, fucking disgusting behaviour. but altogether not surprising actions from neo-nazi fuckwits. the sensible people shouldn't have even been debating w/those vile cretins.
bar Syria, Greece is the most interesting place on earth at the minute. Obama's muff-eating faux-pas aside, of course!
but yea, Greece has been melting down now for four yrs & is a p desperate place even by europe's currently fucked up standards.
still tho, i am a european first & foremost & i find it terribly sad a culture that has provided so much has fallen behind so far. & a lot of it is their own fault but they seem to lack the rationale to admit that & to take measures to fix it. & now they've gone too far to fix it.

Tbh it scares me a bit, because I see the earmarkings of it slowly creeping in in America. Of course our dog will be the last to be kicked.
But there is a complete disconnect of politics and fixing the problem in this country right now. There's alot of lame ducks in both parties just sitting up their for the cush job, and those who are political and power-hungry have entirely different opinions on how to fix the problem, neither are backing down, the media plays it up for ratings like a WrestleMania match, and the American people on average are clueless as to what's actually going on and reacting angrily on impulse to party lines.
I'm not in anyway saying, "Civil War II"... but at the same time it's happened before. I might not be THAT old, and yes I didn't live during the late 60's, but i've never seen it this tense, and despite my younger act, I actively followed poltics since the 1992 election.
