Re: The BATMAN Thread
With the tone this film is already presenting, I can understand why Bane was chosen as the villian now.
Trying to go with Riddler (which is what WB wanted), would've been a hard sell. Even a dark DARK Zodiac-like Riddler would've been an anti-climax to the trilogy. I don't see Batman coming out of retirement to go after a serial killer.
Only other character I could've seen being big enough to sell the finale would've been a Nolan-ized Mr. Freeze that Freeze and the loss of his wife Nora to corporate, could've been played into Bruce feeling "the job" forced him to lose Rachel the love of his life, and question what his real motive was to even bother saving Gotham as Freeze tried to turn his heart cold.
Basically that's what Bane is doing this time around, judging on what i'm seeing. "Why bother fighting me? You know you're gonna lose", but plays up Joker kicking Batman's ASS in TDK.

I see that feeling coming from the character portrayal in the several TV spots and trailers that have been released so far! Only more than a week to go!

When I heard that quote in the trailer, I knew she is going to bring something to the table in this film. Nolan and his team know how to write some good dialogue and interesting quotes.

Am i the only one who really didn't like these movies??

I thought Batman Begins sucked and Heath Ledger saved Dark Knight. I think when he isn't on the screen, the movie is just above avg.
I thought Batman Begins was fucking awesome and still feel it's much better than The Dark Knight. DK was really good but kinda dragged on at times. Ledger was also great but his performance was under utilized and in my opinion slightly overrated. For the hype his performance recieved he should've had way more screen time. It was a great performance BUT it was blown outta proportion because Ledger died before the movie premiered. That's the truth.
Batman Begins = 8.5/10
The Dark Knight = 7.5 / 10
Anyways I've got tickets for the opening day matinee. I love living ina small city cause there will likley only be about 30 people there. I saw Avatar, The Dark Knight and Avengers on opening day matinees and there was only about 30 people there. So awesome to see a blockbuster on opening day that way

I'm a huge Batman fan, he's my fav super hero, and this trilogy to me is the definitive Batman, with Tim Burton's 1989 Batman not far behind.

Re: The BATMAN Thread
Bono, gotta disagree with you about Ledger. One of the reasons I prefer BB to TDK is because it focuses so heavily on Bruce Wayne. The Joker completely stole the movie from him and it's because of Ledger's incredible performance along with brilliant writing for the Joker character. The Nolan brothers gave Ledger a ton of great lines and he nailed them. He's only in 25-30 minutes of a 2 hour, 30 minute film and yet he completely steals the show.
