Thanks again for pulling that information out, Sky! I remember reading about the Abu Dhabi event.

I see Ron as being really fucking brave to share this with the fans. I'm dog tired of the party line that DJ tows. Be a proper fucking rock star and call out BS when it's BS. I always liked Tommy for that. He had more balls than the originals.
I am willing to bet that Ron has tried to talk about his problems and like everybody else is probably kept away from Axl after shows or fobbed off by 'Mom'.
Ron does not strike me as too willing to suck cick for too long to keep this gig.

If axl bitched about his band mates on twitter, i have a feeling everyone would have an issue with it.

I guess i'm just old school. I believe u have an issue with something, u talk to the responsible individual instead of bitching to others and having that person hear it second hand.

If this was a sports team and a player bitched about his teammates, he would face a shit storm and he would lose respect of his mates, the organization, and the fans.

I cant respect someone that breaks the code.

Maybe BBF's greatest pain is the guilt he feels being a whore and selling his soul for $$. He should form a true "band" where all members actually have a say in things.

It seems obvious that you've just got a problem with Ron in general. Seeing as Axl has had plenty of things to say in public about current and former band mates. On top of that I've heard of many, many professional athletes taking to facebook and Twitter to do exactly what you're describing. Then of course there's the examples of Tommy Stinson (a member of the same band as Ron) doing the same thing.

In any case, if you've got a problem with Ron or what he did feel free to make your case but please do it without direct insults. As I've pointed out in the this thread prior, Ron is a registered user here and we do not allow insults of members.

sorry, i'll call ron by his accepted insult in here...he feels guilt for being a "hired gun." he clearly has issues with his "compromises."

just because others complain about their team or their band in public, doesn't make it right. i'm actually STUNNED that people think that is acceptable and normal. i don't have a problem with ron in general. i think i have made it clear what i have a problem with, and i don't care who does it.

in sports, if someone criticizes a team mate after a game it is major news.

i'll ask it again...what is the purpose of Ron bitching via twitter? cause the only think i can think of is to make axl and/or management look bad. he made it seem like they are putting people's lives at risk.
(my second "a few good men" reference in this thread.)

Aerosmith is the wrong band to compare as professionals in this situation. Last couple years was friggin embarrassing for that band and their public spats.

And it would have been just as easy for Fernando to send Ron an email as it was to post that message. Managers don't do that shit. That eat it. He doesn't seem to be able to. Maybe he needs a new profession.

How are those negotiations with the label going again?

I think Tommy was pissed about the added Abu Dhabi show after the Australian tour when they were suppose to be done as well.....

from the msl documents......:haha:
101. December 2010 Doc email about Tommy refusing to play in Abu Dhabi

A lot of fish flying around that one.

In the TMS interview with Trunk, Axl mentioned in passing that the band almost got screwed in Abu Dhabi for one reason or the other. Wonderful journalism prevented the obvious follow-up question.

It's a wild goose chase to say what'd been eating Tommy at that point. I wouldn't buy the late addition to the tour itinerary straight-off, as shows this big are announced months before to ensure ticket sales. However, Doc McGhee was fired the next month, so there was a lot rumbling behind the scenes.

Educated guess would be that the biz end made everybody in the Guns organisation jump through some additional hoops while in Abu Dhabi. The Management would've convinced the band to go through with it as it pays off well.

The Axl interview in Gulf News and the brief promo video with the band were, I think, pushed by the promoters, given there'd been a long time since the Guns' last show in the region.

Notice how Dizzy appears to be either stoned and/or taking a piss at the situation while Tommy evades the camera.

Of course, MSL (among others) went on to say the band members weren't paid on time after all, which would've certainly created chagrin. Go figure.

I understand what you're saying....but to play Devil's Advocate for a second...how available do you think the people responsible really are to discuss these issues?

Axl is kept so sheltered from the people in his own world that on at least one occasion he has not even been aware until the last moment that he was due to perform.

He also didn't know about things like the Trunk interview until management decided he was in a frame of mind to deal with it. It seems many stories exist of people saying they chat with Axl - but it's only in the form of banter and jokes - not about the creative issues and not about problems with the band.

I wouldn't be surprised if the band was explicitly coached not to bring up negative topics with him as from Jarmo down it seems the whole organisation is very careful to focus only on positive feedback.

So that leaves Bumble the chance to contact management, who already must be well aware of Bumblefoots medical condition (I mean we even are) - and yet things like last minute plane diversions happen anyway.

If he's unprofessional in going public, I'd say it's out of desperation, think of the words "too many nails in the coffin" - it's not like one bad thing happened and he cracked it, I'd guess it's probably from many occasions, of a near toxic working environment - something that isn't created by Axl directly himself yet that Axl seems blind to - time and time again -  for reasons I can't understand.
