About 13 years ago, on a whim, my then girlfriend took me to a shelter to find a pet. I begrudgingly went and had no plans to bring home a dog. That day I came home with the best friend I will ever have and had the best 10 years or so hanging out with my sidekick Stan. He passed about 1.5 years ago, but I am so lucky I went to the pound that day.
