Surely someone should hurry over to those judges houses (or estates more likely) and start putting up cameras. They'd probably see more interesting things than weeds growing too.

I don't care about your open field, but if it's my open, i'm shootin' the mother fucker down, or otherwise blocking somehow.

Same goes for the "judgements" recently in the Supreme Court to allow Afghan war drones to fly in the skies patrolling. I'll shoot that down too.

If i'm gonna pay a fine anyways. I'm gonna pay for destruction. And rest assured, these cameras are not to keep you safe. It's just another way for law enforcement to find a way to make money through citations.

My dad worked for SCAN after he retired from the RCMP and they installed secret cameras all the time in an effort to shut down crack houses. If you're breaking the law for the purpose of growing/manufacturing illegal drugs with the intent to traffic it why should  criminals be protectd due to a technicality?  the Fourth Amedment was not designed to protect criminals yet that's it's main purpose it seems in 2012.

What's the real issue here? That the criminals had their rights infringed upon or that they got busted?  Don't be a criminal and you don't have to worry about the cops spying on you. End of story.

Yes, let's throw away a constitutional amendment protecting citizens from random search and seizures on their private property because we need to catch those dangerous pot growing criminals.

Why not just put a camera on everybodys property? You got nothing to hide right, so you wouldn't mind?

You're missing the entire point. The "rights and freedoms" of the public have been so twisted and manipulated that it's main purpose these days seems to be protecting criminals. Now whether you or I or anyone like it or not grow ops are illegal and if you're doing that and get caught tough fucking shit. It shouldn't then become a matter of  the fourth amendment being broken and their rights being violated. Pot is one thing but this exact same scenario plays out all over the place with harder drugs. Hence why I brought up the point of my dad's job and how they use secret cameras all the time. This wasn't a random spy operation. They had reason to believe these guys were doing something illegal and they just needed the evidence. Pretty sure police aren't gonna randomly set up a  camera in my yard or yours.

Breaking the law is breaking the law. You guys have an issue with this because what?  It's only pot. Ok fine now draw the line somewhere? A crack house? An underground child sex house?  A gang house? Seriously cops aren't setting cameras up to monitor Joe blow. They set them up when they have reason to believe an illegal act is being committed and need the evidence. These guys got busted for doing somthng illegal and people are bitching that their rights were violated. How ridiculous.

Those rights and laws exist to protect everyone. Even those breaking the law.

I'd much rather have my privacy than bust crack houses.

What's so important about the constitution? Why do we give it such importance? Surely not having a crack house next door is more important than some criminals right to privacy?
It's seriously outdated.

They're supposed to but do they? No.
What if the crack house was next door to your house?
