To my knowledge, the band never commented on this ever.  Like even when it was announced, they never referenced it, did they?  It was weird from the outset.  Figured Axl would've mentioned it at Kimmel if it was actually happening.  I'll bet Axl never knew anything about it though.  Strange indeed.

If Axl didn't know about it then it's just pain negligence as the CEO of GNR.

I mean picture this from another organisation - major cinema chains are announcing and selling tickets to your product.

Something gave them the idea to do it. And if it all happened with no input or knowledge from GNR then GNR should sue whoever is responsible into eternity.

But lets face it, stuff like this is common place because GNR is the worst managed band ever.

I'm not saying GNR management knew nothing about it.  It was probably a case where they were working on getting this all in place and somebody jumped the gun before everything was agreed upon.  Either that, or it's being canceled due to poor ticket sales, which I could totally see.  I just find it odd that it was never really mentioned by management.

And I say Axl was probably unaware, sort of like he was unaware about the TMS interview until the last minute.  Seems like they don't like to bother him with business until it's absolutely necessary, aka, the last moment.

It doesn't make a difference to me who knows and who doesn't.

If Axl's process as CEO of the organisation is to defer everything to a group of people who elect not to tell him anything, yet mishandle nearly every aspect of the band's professional business then that speaks for itself.

Maybe he should go back to being in partnership with songwriters and being an artist rather than a manager of a company, or alternatively, maybe it's time to appoint people who actually have the skills to run an enterprise.

I swear I want to be positive.

It's just getting beyond comedic how many things "management" fuck up.

Almost nothing has been implemented at a professional standard in two decades. Including stuff like fucking up the vinyl mixing and booklet on the one album they managed to even get out there.

I'm sick of apologising for it to people, and I'm sick of reading people sycophantically pretend this band is anything but a dysfunctional mockery of the talent of everyone who plays in it - including Axl - the once greatest frontman in the world.

Axl made it clear in his recent interview he doesn't give a shit what fans think, and if he did, he'd probably tell me to go fuck myself - but whatever.

I'm with Monkey on this, I was really looking forward to seeing this in the cinema this week, but canceled out of nowhere... what a fucking waste.

Yeah, cancelling the movie in the last minute is GN'R business as usual. I totally understand how frustrating it can be for those who bought tickets or wanted to buy.

But. Although I'm not a fan of the Malibu Mafia, they've done better job so far as the management than anyone before, sans Azoff. I have theories, similar to Monkey's, why they managed to do better, but I rather focus on the outcome: things were better in the last months.

Whoever that is, I mostly agree!

I don't believe Axl knew nothing about it. If a proshot of the band are being put together for ANY kind of release, Axl strikes me as the type of person who gets deeply involved. On a level like "Hey Livebeats! The 54th camaera shot on WTTJ, where the camera is zooming out, needs to be cut. Make another edit and get back to me!"

History tells us that he frequently reads the boards and must have stumbled upon one of the threads on the topic.

The silence is what rubs me the wrong way. For whatever the reason, they should make a comment about it. They KNOW that the diehards have been pumped for this show. Even if the case is that Livebeats or the cinemas jumped the gun, they shouldn't just throw their hands up and say: "Hey fans, we never announced ANYTHING about a cinema-release of ANY kind!. Not our fault!"

You know it's a sad state, when a fan as dedicated as monkey is, starts to get jaded by bad dealings in regards to GN'R...

He's disappointed and he has every reason to be.

Whomever was behind that fuck-up, fucked up.

I know Axl's gang has the stock answer ("not our fault"), but it gives the fans little. It gets old.

Just like 'shut up and be grateful for the little you do get'.
