Re: 11-10-2012 - The Joint, Las Vegas, NV
I think the logic would be if he mixed CD the album then he's used to multiple guitar parts and working them in with synth and so on.
One of the problems at all modern GNR shows is swapping between lead guitarists - in solos where they take a phrase of the solo each you'd frequently get a lead line buried under a really loud rhythm line.
For example the bridge in nighttrain at RAR 06 - you can see fortus play it but you can hardly hear it - then at download frestival in the same year (i think) bumblefoot shreds out an epic solo but his guitar isn't patched into the board or something and you get like 16 bars of the drums/bass/rhythm only.
There's some logic in GNR using one technician for a duration of time so he learns where these kinds of lead-guitar jumps occur.
I remember when /jarmo liked VR
I actually find it one of the sickest things in the GNR saga. Like Axl and Slash having a feud is fine for THEM - it's their lives, business and they know each other - but the way people have taken it to the fanbase like supporting sports teams...it's very odd.

I have to admit it's kinda funny that someone like Beta (if not Axl himself) probably knows who I am by screen name at least. It's sad too. I saw Beta briefly at the Hard Rock (I only know it was her because she was pointed out to me by someone that would know) and though about going up and introducing myself...I think that would have been a classic moment.

I've always disliked Beta since she came online at htgth and went off with really vulgar language at anyone who questioned anything about Axl's doings. Seems like the ultimate Beggar & Hanger-On if I ever saw one.
Your story about Stacey and the tattoo only further proves my point.
Glad to hear members of THE ACTUAL BAND aren't like that. Without Axl, Beta is nothing, and she seems to forget that.

I didn't spend any time talking to any of them (other than a few words with Ron) and I have to say they all came off as pretty cool and appreciative from what I observed. Pitman was really nice, and I think he's so unnecessary to what GnR is (or should be). It was cool to see them all as regular people and not rock stars. I think if everybody got to see them like that, people would have a lot less issues with the guys in the band.
On a side note, Pitman looks so normal that he kind of looks like he belongs in a boy band.

Pittman is probably my favorite member of the band as the years have gone on. He's written on some of the best new era songs. Especially hearing all the layers of work he did on the songs when the instrumentals of CD leaked. Love his bass playing on ITW, too.
