Re: GIGWISE Lists Axl Rose as #42 on top 69 Front Men and Women
He did it a lot in 06 and 07, stopping songs to have someone kicked out or in some cases security
As I pointed out before, I know that.
Luckily enough - I wasn't there...
Why do you ask when he's done this recently?
Since that was what DTJ said, I asked and pointed out what I can remember from last year.
That's pretty much it. I wasn't trying to prove anyone wrong.

I would but I think what hinders a list like this could be the temper tantrums on stage, making crowds wait, walking out of shows and causing riots.
Imo those are why he deserves to be in the top 10. Axl Rose is riots, tantrums and mania.
Anyways, 42 is a disgrace. Who are the other 40 supposed to be? Plant, Tyler, Jagger, Mercury, Bono...then what?

At which concerts did he yell at the audience recently? I think it happened once or twice in Brisbane last year because someone threw a bottle/cup of beer on him.
Either way, I agree with you, and that's why I said that I see your point - even though it might not have been clear enough.
I'm sorry about that.
Funny I wan't even talking about recently, I was going by his overall career. He did it many times in the 80's and 90's and the last riot was Philly in 02.

That's my fault.
By past concerts, I thought you meant in 2006/2007.
Sorry for the misunderstanding - I should've read it more carefully.

Not a problem, it's all good
Re: GIGWISE Lists Axl Rose as #42 on top 69 Front Men and Women
I too thought he would have been higher than 42. I have tried to put my personal bias aside but I still can't see why he wouldn't be up higher up.
Granted his lack of respect at time for his audience and his temprament may have subconscioualy worked against him, but still you can't deny that when the guy is onstage he works a crowd and commands attention like few others.
Even casual fans of the band or people that don't even like them know of him and his volatile "mad frontman" nature. True sometimes for the wrong reasons but they still know that if you are watching him on stage you are likely transfixed because you simply don't know what could happen with all that energy that he displays as he stalks and runs around the stage.
I couldn't say the same about bands that I don't really care for. I would struggle to even name the lead singer of some bands that are higher up, let along have any idea how they may conduct themselves onstage.

Could someone post the entire list so I don't have to go page by page on that dumb site? Or give me a link to the the list where it's all on one page?
Re: GIGWISE Lists Axl Rose as #42 on top 69 Front Men and Women
also keep in mind that Gigwise is British....so obviously there are different influences on music over there than in North America, some of these singers i've never even heard of, and the big American born singers tend to be farther down the list than English born ones

Very true. One could say the same of Jim Morrison, hell they had police on the stage with him [granted a different time] and he made it to 18.
