Talk about a stupid way to die. I mean it's literally NO point to climbing a mountain. It accomplishes nothing. It's not like you're trying to find the original Kwik-E-Mart or something up there.

Pretty crazy. You would think after seeing so many dead bodies up there that people would know what they are doing is ridiculous and foolish.

You could make the same argument for joining the armed forces.

I have greater things on my bucket list and this is definitely not on it. 16

Yeah, that's what I always say when I walk past the cemetery.

I guess you and I just have to agree to disagree here.

To me, mountains are beautiful, and the ascent a spiritual undertaking. It's about reminding oneself how puny one is in the grand scheme of things, how fleeting our time on this rock is.

The sensation of being on a mountaintop on a full moon, with clouds hurling literally around you is something I could never hope to fully relate.

It's another world up there, and you only know it if you know it.

I can understand the desire to accomplish climbing Mt. Everest. Someone I know recently went to Africa and climbed Kilimanjaro. I'm not friends with him, really, so I don't know exactly what his feelings are on it, but it's something to be proud of, I think.
I suppose, there's a right way and a wrong way to climb. I'm sure if you prepare yourself for all foreseeable emergencies, you can make the climb safely.

That said, I would never do that. Lol. I'll jump off the Stratosphere in LV all day long, but not climb a mountain smile
